I don’t hate Indians. I H1 visa them to work here. As for Native Americans, I don’t hate them either. I just recognize that they are just pawns in the whole Keystone XL and always will be. They don’t even factor into the decision but it is quant that we let them feel like they do matter.

Yeah, the only jobs lost are union jobs. Blinders on much?

C'mon frank, you're smarter than that.

OK, back to real world and my lack of knowledge on this specific subject.
Have these jobs been on-going and are they now eliminated or will this just prevent (delay?) them from materializing?
Both scenarios are bad but the former is worse...

Last question for now, why didn't this get cleared up in the 4 years Trump had to work on it?

OK, one more. Do we need this for any reasons other than jobs?

Thanks

I’m surprised Trump didn’t replace the XL pipeline with the XXL Super Duper pipeline

I too hate to see anyone lose their job (union or otherwise), but I was thinking something similar: What percentage of U.S. oil consumption would the new addition to the pipeline have provided?

Some of the jobs were oncoming and are now eliminated.

Many of the jobs were already under contract for 2021. Those are also now eliminated.

It didn’t get cleared up under the Trump years because of the typical environmental challenges.

I think it would have provided around 900,000 barrels a day. We can just import that from the Saudis but that increases our dependence on Middle East instability.

It's a painful concept yet we've faced it before in other industries in the last 3 or 4 decades. Delaying the inevitable will be worse in the long run. Planning needs to start.

Some of you proles are scary, your crazy belief that central planners in government and bureaucracy are the least bit competent and can efficiently mold society, the economy and technology to your hearts desire is nuts!

So who exactly is "we" and after you crush the non-politically correct industries, what do have to replace them with, have you got a ready made replacement invented for those energy sources that is as cheap, clean, efficient and affordable?
I know Wokie Joe has a plan, he'll dictate by executive order 500,000 EV charging stations into existence for cars that won't exist or the ones only rich people can afford. (with a government subsidy of course) That'll fix it. No idea where the clean and cheap electricity will come from, but hey he'll think of something.

Oh wait, "Delaying the inevitable will be worse in the long run", I've heard that before, didn't AOC say that? If we don't implement the "Green New Deal" immediately, we're all dead in 10 years? Yep, that's what the bartender said.
I remember the "Peak Oil" scare too. What was that 20-25 years ago or something? Yep oil reserves are almost all gone, no more to be found they said, if gubment central planners don't do something we're all screwed.

If would require further refining in order to make it into a product that the normal person would buy.

That squashes any economic profit so we're back to importing it from the mideast.
