For Tank71663 (and anyone else interested), here is my circulation fan setup. The fan is wired to the Radio Shack power supply, which is plugged into the timer (via an extension cord), and, of course, the timer into the wall outlet. The timer is set to turn the fan on for 30 minutes every four hours. Only the fan itself is actually in the coolerdor...... easy and straightforward.458984.JPG

That is good stuff. I am going to use that same set up while building mine.

Thanks

What do you think the whole setup cost and did you drill a hole for the wire or just have it going in at the lid opening?

Thanks

ddandb...

To tell you the truth, I have no idea what it cost.... I just had the parts lying around, but I doubt it would be more than 20 bucks. The wires just go under the foam weather stripping you see around the edge.

BTW - the rectangular white object on the right is a wireless temp/humidity sensor that sends the info to my PC.

(Yes, I'm a gadget geek!)

Kfram,

Thanks for the info..

You mentioned a wireless temp/humidity sensor..

I went to the other picture to check it out.

Where did you get it? I've been looking for something like this.

Thanks

The sensor is part of a wireless weather station I run.

I post weather info for my area on the internet.

I'm sure a little Googling would turn something like this up..... you'd also have to have the software for the computer. My weather station is a WS2010 from LaCross.

Thanks Kfram..

I was hoping it was some simple little setup I had missed.

Yeah the ones I saw when I did a search all looked a little on the expensive ($200+) side and were more for weather monitoring.

That's a great system. I've been trying to come up with a way to put one in my Wine Fridgidoor. And also I have a wireless base station with the sensor in my Fridgedoor upstairs. It works pretty well. I pass that room everyday but don't have to go in. I know lazyness... but it keeps the moisture locked in longer. I just hit a button down here at my computer on the base station and it switches to the frequency of the sensor. I got the setup at Target for 30 or 40 bucks I think.

Don't worry about the fan plugs.

Just strip the wires from the fan and power supply

and twist 'em up with a little electrical tape. (It's only 12 volts DC)
