You spend close to $60k on college chasing down a masters in business admin and even though you are close to being done, you realize you will still be stuck at the same old dead end job that you've been trying desperately to escape.
COVID f#{ked up the job market that is already super hard to get employed to anything paying over $50k.
Now you fear having a useless masters on top of your useless bachelors while bills continue to grow and prices such as gas have shot up by $1 a gallon.
You wish you could do it over and become an electrician. However, it was so indoctrinated in you to go to college since preschool by your parents. Parents who told you it doesn't even matter what your degree is in cause you'll be hired just for having one. Most likely to management.
Now bachelors degrees are the new HS degree but with giant payments. Payments not paid since the start of covid. But money is bleeding through your fingers even without that. So you fear COVID ever ending as they will want their pound of flesh again.
Meanwhile you see forgive student loans plans floating around and it gives a spark of hope. A brief glimmer at one less stone upon your chest crushing you into a tiny pulp. Then it gets switched to $10k (enough for an few shares in some sustainable energy stocks apparently) and still you hope. But Biden refuses to do so. And why should he? None of his predecessors have? Why would he be any different?
Then you feel jaded and apathetic at the whole system. You see wealth inequality everywhere you turn. You, needing some sort of win, throw your stimulus money into some dumb meme stock like $GME, $BB or $PLTR as they cant go tits up. Now you are in a bigger hole wishing you could average down but have about 3 nickels in your bank account and owe at least 10 nickels.
I wonder what's streaming on Netflix?
Disclosure: Not my original work, received it in an e-mail and thought it was funny.
