You didn't really put Kevorkian and Mengele in the same class did you? Kevorkian helped people die with dignity and Mengele was a sadistic madman... I think I need to rage quit these forums for awhile....

Um...they both killed people and were doctors that took a Hippocratic Oath. An oath that preserves and upholds Life. While I can see what Kevorkian wanted to do...the laws weren't with him in any way, shape, form or imitation. Mengele on the other hand was a twisted sadistic demented **** with a full dance card with a willing government. Fauci really is in-between these two creeps.

Umm no. Ever read the oath? I have. Some of the main points are "I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm" and "Practice two things in your dealings with disease: either help or do not harm the patient". It's changed over the years and actually goes farther back than Hippocrates. Which goes to show just how long the debate has been going on over what is considered ethical.

What is harm? Is it better to prolong a life that's filled with pain and suffering? Stealing someone's dignity because other people haven't come to terms with their own mortality? People with terminal diseases should be allowed a choice. It's long been debated all over the world. In the U.S. we already have the right to refuse treatment or sign a DNR. Parts of Australia, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Columbia, India and Canada all allow legal assisted suicide in one form or another for terminal patients. Context is important. Just because what Kevorkian did was against the law doesn't mean he should get lumped in with the likes of Mengele. They're not even close.

Rage quitting. Again!

Peoples "freedom" ends where public heath begins. Or it should.

But in America we have a long and loved tradition of people causing harm to others, putting others at risk, damaging the environment, all in the name of "freedom".

It is a bunch of crap.

We have too many in the country that think freedom is a pass card to get out of social responsibility, and they don't care who it hurts.

You constantly rail against "gubment" but never seem to say what form of government you do support? We know you're a Polly Prissy Pants when it comes to the Democrats and you don't seem to like the Republicans much either. Are we bringing back the Whigs? Theocracy? If it is Theocracy I'm not a witch. They dressed me like this. I mean... I did turn Bucky into a newt but, he got better. If you can find a duck that weighs the same as me. RUN!

Okay, back to rage quitting. I'm easing into it.

I kinda like the brief life as a newt. Maybe if I didn't get better so fast, I could have regenerated the portion of my thumb that I lopped off while renovating my kitchen.

Yes, I certainly detest the Marxist Democrats (can you think of a reason a respectable person wouldn't?) and I equally detest the Republican neocon faction and Conservative Inc. too.
Now the blockhead part...Whigs? Theocracy? WTF! You need to get out more and stop quacking like a duck about stuff you know nothing about.🦆

A respectable government would be one that has no dicktators 🐷 and can be drowned in a bathtub 🛁 if it starts thinking it's more equal than others.

Utopia is a statist concept, remember statist blockheads like socialists are still to this day trying to create a Utopia on Earth. The problem is all the violence, economic destruction, and stepping over the dead bodies they create keeps getting in the way.
Utopians, whether on the left or the right have one thing in common, they all believe what is "lacking is a Central Authority capable of addressing every need with a solution", as Thomas Sowell put it.

Joscha Bach argues we are not a pack animal but we are a state building animal. We are intertwined with state because it is our nature to create states.

It's a good argument... but it implies RayRay is still a monkey.

I know it's not the rubbish you are used to reading.
Utopians suffer from what Frederick Hayek termed the “fatal conceit”. They actually believe that government, through some specious calculations and sheer political will they can mold society into what they desire and damn the individuals that dissent. It's fundamental to how all collectivists operate, which is very apparent in the current administration for sure.
