Is there anything better than being the first bidder on an item?

Other than actually winning that box of gars for a buck of course. 😉

...Yes, being the only bidder on a lot and winning it for $1.

Yes ... being the first bidder, and not using 'autobid' set high enough ... and losing to someone who bids one increment higher and wins it!

... but I guess that isn't better ... LOL!

That all depends, how much are you bidding on "Firt"s these days?

What's up with the mutants that bid $1.00 with no auto bid on gars that they will NEVER win.. do they just like to see there bids posted or what.. childish IMHO..

cayman, I guess they just wants the oportunity (sp?) to be able to look up what the lot went for after it's closed.

Then put it on your watch list..

Watch list doesn't help. You bid a buck on 2 or 3. Set your limit to...say $5 (so you don't go over a buck a gar) then see what happens.

I was responding to Hansen's reply of wanting to see what the lot went for... not a bidding tactic..

Use of the watch list itself may not be a tactic, but it sure makes it easier to monitor the activity on various bids ... if you've only bid on one or two things, it's not as handy a tool as if you've bid on several (or, as I've sometimes done, many) ... dunno about the rest of you, but if I've got half a dozen bids or more open, it's sometimes easy to overlook one or two of them ...

Yeah I don't believe the watch list lets you look at what the lot closed for at after the auction is over.Where as if you bid $1-$2 bucks and lose you have a record for 60 days and can see what it closed for and bid accordingly on the next time around.
