Anyone have any good reliable cigar lighters to suggest? I prefer the blue flame butane lighters. Have gone thru so many that have either needed frequent repair due to unclogging etc,( Colibri's), or just plainly don't work any more. I've tried cleaning them by air blasting and unclogging by bleeding them...most still die after a while. Are there any reliable cigar lighters that will continue to work for years, or do all of them have a limited half-life?

i got a cheapo ive been using for almost a year. have never heard of one that doesnt give their owners trouble eventually. good luck!

I am not picky. You can get some good deals on lighters here. I used to aceteline weld back in the 80s I wonder who lit a cigar with one and made the torches so popular. Whats wrong with fire?

you are right. get the cheap ones and throw them away when they stop. no butane and screwing around trying to refill them.

i believe fire is fire, except for zippos that use lighter fluid that screws up a cigar.

Try a Colibri Quantum Jet. MSRP is $30, but you can usually get one for less here. With proper care, one of these will last for years.

I've had my prometheus for three years now, it has been perfect over this entire time. Every couple of months I clean it out with my air duster, and I only use quintuple refined butane, perfect clean odorless burn. Well worth the money since I never have to worry about it working when I don't have a backup.
