Art was telling me about the rain. SoCal always needs it, but it does suck when you're used to sunny and warm every day.

Pull your pants up slacker. Rained a couple of days here too but I got the miles in. Hat, umbrella, coat up and go.

Sounds like the Sierra Nevada has about 175% of normal snow pack at this point with more storms lined up in what they call a "bomb cycle" so we all may be able to get a drink again.

... The Zoning Board Recommends that Mr. Walls's property should not be rezoned to either commercial or residential. Mr Walls is asking to have his property rezoned on a desire or dream of someday building storage units. He has failed to submit anything tangible to suggest his desire will go forward if his property is rezoned. Hence, if it is rezoned on a Desire or a Dream, it will set Dangerous precedent for future applications of rezoning.

Sorry it didn't work out the way you hoped and tried. Find a buyer or partner (with real money) who wants to and can build its own storage facility on your land and they, if experienced, will hire the right lawyer who knows what they are doing, get the proper evidence before the committee, and ultimately get the zoning changed for you. Trying to do this on your own is never going tom work. Good luck!!! 🇨🇮

5th day in a row with no sun. The saving grace is the clouds are keeping the warmth in.
Expected high of 28.
Off to Costco in a bit.
Might go out for dinner tonight with the lady. Have a gift card or two to utilize.

Going to do my level best to bring some smiles, hope and maybe a little laughter today.
Everyone is invited along to do the same.

I got something that'll make you smile. Smokey treats when you decide to visit.

Got the area for the smoker sorted today. Leveling sand, 4 20"x20" stone slabs... poured sand, leveled it out, set the stones and made sure it was all level.

Smoker should be at the store for pickup by the 11th. Mmmmmm... smoked meat.

Unfortunately, you and Robert are both right from a different standpoint. If you want to fight your government bureaucracy you have to have deep pockets and lawyer up. Shouldn't be that way but thats what it has become.

Your not missing anything in a negative way Robert, I am just assuming you are looking at the wording this Person used in his recommendations as a Legal term. in which it very well is and can be. but it can also be derived from a Traditional standpoint of Being an American and or becoming an American Citizen? and then one would have to trace this entirely back to the roots and foundation of this for anyone and everyone?? OK. I thought about this some more.

I don't know any of the specific details, but here is what I generally advise based on what I would specifically try to do if I had property I could hold and was in your situation- thinking its best use would be a storage facility:

I would find some commercial realtor(s) who specialize in warehouse space and property for building warehouses on.It is an important/unique niche within the commercial real estate market. That person would have the right stuff for your exact situation.

If they see potential, give them the listing on the property and let them sell it to someone who can take on the rest- while you walk away with a profit on your land equal to its potential best use. Might take a while. No evidence. No lawyers. No zoning board. Nothing. Pay the commission (5-7%). Get your money and walk away.

My best friend's commercial real estate business is the exact niche you need. We have another friend whose family owns and manages several storage facilities. They have bought both land and other storage facilities from my best friend. We have talked about these kind of deals for 30+ years. I was a little involved in their first deal by putting them together...

Good luck!
