Been doing a lot of reflection over the past year. Lots of life changes going on. Did the going back to school, graduating and moving to a new career. Then my kids on the cusp of being legal adults.

My kids... it seems like not too long ago that I was stay at home dad and doing some consulting work from home. Primary duties was changing diapers, and taking them to play dates, Cub Scouts, dance recitals, soccer, little league baseball and softball.

The calendar says that it was about 12 yrs ago but it seems like more recent than that.

Now my son has a driver's license, a car, a girlfriend, applying to colleges and within 3 months will be a legal adult. My daughter is not far behind. I'm not a helicopter parent but hopefully I've instilled the values, ethics and responsibilities into their minds to be successful moving forward. I think this is every parent's wish.

The older I get, it seems like time speeds up. I may not like it but I can't stop it

Change is inevitable, you raised your children to be independent adults, now it's their turn.

Look forward, it's called success, be a proud Pop.

I envy you, Bucky. While I have my proud poppa moments, the military career made me miss a lot of those moments. Heck, I taught my wife how to drive, but the kid went to a "driving school" because I was deployed when he needed the training. 🤦

Mornin' dudes.

The bittersweet gets more sweet as it goes (ymmv). Am four years ahead of you, and do miss my son with him being three hours away. When I do see him, the love and joy is amplified.

My wife would say she wished he’d never grow up. Some mentally disabled kids never do. We likely all have friends who are in that situation.

Enjoy the journey, Buck.
