The US government may have made tens of millions of dollars in duplicate payments for virus research at the Wuhan Institute for Virology, according to a review of government records by a former federal investigator, CBS News reports.

"What I've found so far is evidence that points to double billing, potential theft of government funds. It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research," said Diane Cutler, whose services were engaged by Kansas Republican Senator Roger Marshall.

Cutler has more than 20 years of experience investigating healthcare fraud and white-collar crime, an her conclusions spring from her review of over 50,000 documents relating to US grants that financed coronavirus research in China.

The apparent double-payments, made via the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and US Agency for International Development (USAID), related to a variety of claimed costs, including salaries, travel, medical supplies and equipment.

Anonymous sources told CBS the damage may amount to tens of millions of dollars. Marshall has turned over Cutler's findings to USAID and the agency's internal watchdog, which has launched an investigation of its own. It could take six months or more.

On Feb. 28, FBI Director Christopher Wray said the bureau had long ago concluded the Covid-19 pandemic was most likely the result of a leak from a Chinese lab. Days earlier, it was reported that the Department of Energy had -- in 2020 -- reached its own determination that a lab leak was most likely.

This month, former NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci was accused of prompting a cadre of scientists to publish a paper disproving the lab-leak theory -- just days after scientists warned Fauci, in February 2020, that Covid-19 may have indeed leaked from a lab.

Two authors of that same paper -- who initially expressed concerns over a lab-leak but then changed their tune -- went on to receive millions in NIH grants under Fauci.

Fauci earned at least $480,654 a year in his NIH-NIAID role, making him the highest-paid employee in the federal government. Now, the increasingly disgraced graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts is raking in a pension estimated at $414,000 -- more than the US presidential salary.

Researchers at the Department of Defense wrote a devastating takedown of the Proximal Origin study, which was used by Dr. Anthony Fauci as proof that the COVID-19 virus had come from nature.

The takedown, dated May 26, 2020, was written in the form of a working paper called “Critical analysis of Andersen et al. The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2.” It was authored by Commander Jean-Paul Chretien, a Navy doctor working at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and Dr. Robert Cutlip, a research scientist at the Defense Intelligence Agency. The paper came to light on May 15, when it was leaked to the public via virus origins search group DRASTIC (Decentralized Radical Autonomous Search Team Investigating COVID-19).

The working paper forensically dismantles the natural origin case made in Proximal Origin and concludes, “The arguments that Andersen et al. use to support a natural-origin scenario for SARS-CoV-2 are based not on scientific analysis, but on unwarranted assumptions.”

The existence of this internal Pentagon paper is crucial, as it proves that government officials were well aware in the early months of the pandemic that there was no evidence in support of a natural origin of the COVID-19 virus. Additionally, given the crushing discrediting of Proximal Origin, Pentagon officials would also have been aware of Fauci’s efforts to seed a false narrative about the origin of COVID-19.

Proximal Origin was initially conceived by Fauci during a secret teleconference held on Feb. 1, 2020. The ostensible purpose of the teleconference was to deflect attention from a possible lab origin of COVID-19 and to shift the focus to a natural origin theory. Fauci directed a number of scientists, led by Kristian Andersen of Scripps Research and Robert Garry of Tulane Medical School, to pen a study that could be used to discredit the lab leak theory. Despite being directly involved in the inception of the paper, as well as in shaping its arguments, Fauci’s role was concealed from the public. Fauci later bestowed Andersen and Garry with lavish taxpayer-funded grants.

The defects in Proximal Origin were immediately noticed by reviewers at science journal Nature. This fact only became known late last year from emails obtained via the Freedom of Information Act by independent journalist Jimmy Tobias. However, with the help of Jeremy Farrar, who now is the chief scientist of the World Health Organization and who had helped Fauci shape the natural origin narrative, Proximal Origin was accepted for publication in Nature Medicine on March 17, 2020. It boldly concluded that no “laboratory-based scenario is plausible.”

On April 17, 2020, President Donald Trump confirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic likely started in a Wuhan laboratory in China. On the same day, while attending a White House press conference, Fauci categorically dismissed the possibility of a lab origin of COVID-19, citing Proximal Origin as corroboration. Fauci feigned independence, telling reporters that he could not recall the names of the authors. What was not known at the time was that Fauci not only knew the authors well, but had personally led the effort to have Proximal Origin written.

Proximal Origin became the media’s go-to natural origin authority, repeating Fauci’s claim that the paper provided dispositive proof that COVID-19 had come out of nature. It also became the most-read article on COVID-19 and one of the most cited academic papers of all time.

Yet, while the public was being told by Fauci and the media that Proximal Origin had settled the origin debate, Pentagon researchers came to a very different conclusion.

Chretien and Cutlip found that COVID-19’s features, which Proximal Origin ascribed to natural evolution, were actually “consistent with another scenario: that SARS-CoV-2 was developed in a laboratory, by methods that leading coronavirus researchers commonly use to investigate how the viruses infect cells and cause disease, assess the potential for animal coronaviruses to jump to humans, and develop drugs and vaccines.”

Recently, Dana Carvey and David Spade goofed on Fauci.

The bit started with the two comedians reminiscing about the COVID-19 pandemic during a podcast appearance together.

Carvey brought up the topic with a sarcastic line, saying, "I miss COVID." Amused, Spade began to riff on the topic as well, pointing out what he perceived was a double standard in COVID-19 prevention protocol.

He replied, "I know! Dude, dude! You know when I knew there was trouble? When anyone that came to our country didn’t have to get a vaccine, and I go, ’If you’re telling me that I can’t go to work, but everyone coming in doesn’t have to get one, I go…’" Spade then made a shocked face as if he couldn’t believe the hypocrisy.

Carvey then hijacked the spotlight with his impression of Fauci recommending COVID-19 vaccines and countless booster shots. Adopting Fauci’s accent, he said, "Well once we found out when Fauci said, ‘OK, I’m sorry, if you’ve had two boosters and two vaccines, you can get and give COVID to another guy who’s had five vaccines and four boosters."

Pretending to be a citizen asking Fauci a question, Carvey asked, "What’s the difference between a vaccine and booster?" Switching back to Fauci, he remarked, "I don’t know, it’s just more vaccine but booster sounds better."

Carvey continued as Fauci, saying, "Anyway, a guy with 25 vaccines would get and give COVID to another guy with 25 vaccines. That’s why I’m introducing the daily COVID shot. Every day you get a shot. By the time you get to your car, you got no immunity, but it’s a beautiful 39 seconds."

Spade let out a laugh as the camera zoomed in on Carvey as he made pulled down his sunglasses and made a goofy face for the punch line.

Those who were Covid cowards need to stand up against tyranny in the future. It’s the least they can do.

If you were one of those people who always diligently wore an ineffective mask, got the experimental vaccine and boosters, or performatively practiced social distancing, you really owe an apology to those who stood up for civil liberties during Covid and must commit to being smarter and braver in the future.

The Covid years mark what was arguably the greatest encroachment on personal freedom and bodily autonomy in the history of our country. The government decimated the American economy by forcibly closing businesses. It enacted unethical and anti-science mask mandates and government employee vaccine mandates, even though the Covid shots do not prevent people from spreading or contracting the virus.

Many counties and cities made life for the unvaccinated as uncomfortable as possible, with some prohibiting them from dining in restaurants and going to the gym or entertainment venues. Meanwhile, private businesses and schools had their own social distancing, vaccine, and mask requirements, with even many churches bending the knee.

It was at least somewhat reasonable to wear a mask or social distance at the very beginning of Covid because there were so many unknowns about the virus. Yet the insanity lasted for years, well after it was clear the response to the virus was causing more harm than good and studies showed the lockdowns were futile, cloth masks were not effective, and the vaccine was causing serious injuries.

To avoid judgment, go out to dinner, and even keep their jobs, a disturbing number of Americans were compliant with the Covid nonsense. A smaller number of people, however, resisted. They allowed themselves to be fired or expelled to avoid the vaccine mandates. They forwent indoor dining and entertainment, and they walked through the airport with uncovered faces as dystopian loud speakers repeated over and over, “Federal law requires you to wear a mask covering your nose and mouth at all times.”

Covid had only the power we the people gave it. Had enough Americans refused to shutter their businesses and comply with vaccine and mask mandates, the performative fear would have ceased to control us.

The most crucial thing to understand about the government and social reaction to Covid is that it was an experiment. During the 2020 World Economic Forum, Chairman Klaus Schwab and then-Prince Charles announced the infamous “Great Reset,” a WEF economic project that seeks to use Covid as a vehicle for limiting Western freedom and promoting globalism.

Charles stated that Covid “offers an unprecedented opportunity to rethink and reset the ways in which we live and do business.” The WEF’s “revolutionary reset” calls on world leaders to implement the forum’s socialist master plan for transitioning economies from relying on coal, oil, and natural gas to insufficient supplies of wind and solar power.

Essentially, government leaders exploited the fear surrounding Covid, using it to implement disastrous economic policies that kill the middle class and will eventually create a form of neo-feudalism that only benefits mega, global corporations and the state.

Thanks to the inaction of millions of Americans, the response to Covid irreversibly damaged our country. Yes, people lost their livelihoods, and it stunted the education of an entire generation of children, with hundreds of thousands to this day still reportedly missing from school systems across the country. However, it also set an alarming precedent that in America we willingly give up essential liberty anytime federal bureaucrats claim we are facing a public “emergency.”

Even worse is the example Covid set for younger generations. Perhaps nowhere in America was Covid more authoritarian than on college campuses, where young people were taught that mental submission, creepy surveillance, and Covid violation reporting systems were essential, virtuous, and even normal.

The ramifications of the Covid response will be felt for decades. If we learned anything from the WEF’s “Great Reset,” it’s that Covid is no one-off. Now that our leaders have watched the majority of the population relinquish their liberties for a virus comparable for many in the general population to the seasonal flu, they’re going to whip out the Covid playbook anytime they want to scare the populace into compliance.

That’s where those who were sheep during Covid come in. Thousands of Americans were severely punished for bravely resisting the Covid psyop because millions more followed the edicts and perpetuated fear despite knowing better. When the next Covid comes along, those who were either gullible or cowards need to learn from their mistakes and stand up against tyranny. That’s the least they can do.

The US government has finally pulled funding from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where the Obama administration offshored banned gain-of-function research, including projects to make bat covid more transmissible to humans, before a highly evolved, human-infecting bat coronavirus broke out in the same town and killed millions of people worldwide.

Then the US put the same guy involved in said research, Peter Daszak, in charge of a highly conflicted lab-leak denial.

The stated reason for the funding halt? The lab failed to provide documents concerning safety and security measures, according to a memo obtained by Bloomberg.

The Department of Health and Human Services on Monday notified the WIV of the suspension, and told the lab that it's looking to cut it off permanently following a review which began last September that concluded that the Wuhan lab isn't compliant with federal regulations.

This means that the WIV won't receive further federal funding.

Penalizing the lab is the most drastic action the US has taken so far over its failure to share documentation on biosafety practices amid ongoing investigations into Covid-19’s origins. The institute has became become a flashpoint in discussions of how the pandemic, which has killed some 7 million people, started, with some, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, suspecting it could have originated at the facility. -Bloomberg

In 2014, the NIH awarded EcoHealth Alliance and its president Peter Daszak an grant for "understanding the risk of bat coronavirus emergence." The WIV received a subaward of that grant.

The first $666,442 installment of EcoHealth's $3.7 million NIH grant was paid in June 2014, with similar annual payments through May 2019 under the "Understanding The Risk Of Bat Coronavirus Emergence" project.

Notably, the WIV "had openly participated in gain-of-function research in partnership with U.S. universities and institutions" for years under the leadership of Dr. Shi 'Batwoman' Zhengli, according to the Washington Post's Josh Rogin.

EcoHealth also funneled funds from the US Agency for International Development to the WIV.

Earlier this year, HHS’s Office of Inspector General conducted an audit that determined that the NIH and EcoHealth Alliance didn’t effectively monitor awards and subawards, limiting their ability to understand the nature of research conducted and identify problem areas.

That said, the Wuhan lab can contest the suspension and proposed disbarment - a relatively rare event. The decision to defund the lab was done independently of the US intelligence community, Bloomberg further reports.

In June, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a declassified report which identified several safety and security issues at the WIV that could have contributed to a lab leak.

Reportedly, "long COVID" long term, non-catchy, aftereffects from contracting COVID. He also gets dizzy walking more than thirty steps and was issued a handicap plate, again, another long COVID symptom.
