Tequila People,
Does tequila ever go bad?
Is the answer different if the bottle is opened or unopened?

Good Sunday morning.

Already read two full newspapers. Two more to go.

Hoping to get out for a swim within the next two hours then spray Roundup to kill all the winter weed still growing in my front yard garden of ginger, purple heart, african iris, society garlic an lilies of the nile. Gotta alo trim and pesticide my sago palm Should take like 30 minutes.

Then, going to check out some more XFL football to see if I like it. Hey! It might be better than nothing... 🇨🇮

It's bad before the bottle is even opened. Just the smell of it gives me dry heaves.

Morning Ya'll Wife has her first official day off since her Tax Season started back in early January...

I am fixing her Oven baked Bacon... and our Special Breakfast Omelet Casserole with Sausage flavored Country Gravey to smother it in...

We're then kicking back with a Sativa Brownie and watch some old westerns or maybe some HS Basketball playoffs?
Depending on the strength of this batch of Brownies? we may end up watching Danger Will Rodgers or some other SIFI Chit??? 🇨🇮

When I was younger and used to drink socially and in college, tequila was the best buzz, and it and good scotch rarely left me hung over. I really don't care to drink now (because I don't like how it makes me feel, medications I use, etc), but the liquor that absolutely kills me- is gin. Once did 8-9 shots in collegeand paid the price!

I think hangover severity has more to do with your condition before drinking, water intake, and food intake. Now our memory for smells is one of the most persistant meories and the smell of a particular liquor probly gets assoiaated with a sever hangover.

That said, just a whiff of red wine sets my head spinning, offh.

Agreed. Neither Blackberry Brandy or Southern Comfort hasn’t touched my lips since the mid 1980s.

Asked the tequila question due to me rediscovering a bottle purchased in Cancun in 1991. Got it for the equivalent of $5. Never opened.

On a similar note, there is a half bottle of spiced rum I got from a friend gave to me when she traveled the Carribean. That was 1993. I believe because it is a spiced rum, I should pitch it.

Should probably post that question on the What Rums Are You Drinking thread.

So Co is another one that gives me the pukes just thinking about it. Last time I drank it was back in college where I ended up in a snow bank one night making orange colored Southern Comfort/bile slush as I was puking and prying to God that if he got me through the night, I would never drink again. I made it thorough the night but broke my promise to never drink again.

Gin, on the other hand, a lot of people don't like. It does have a unique taste. Gin and tonic with a slice of lime was one of my favorite drinks in college. I don't remember getting sick from drinking it. I kinda miss it along with various good beers but can't drink anymore. I will have some tonic water with a slice of lime now and again but just minus the gin or vodka.

Gin is what I like the most, an occasional gin and tonic. I do like the Last Word, Bees Knees, and Aviation cocktails if I want to take more trouble.

Tequila - can’t hold ANY Jose Cuervo up to my nose without the urge to purge. [barf] But, strangely enough, any other tequila is fine. Too many youthful activities with Jose.

Jack Daniels - another urge to purge, in almost all expressions. Was able to drink it until I was 35-ish then one night my friend and I ate some “special” cookies, went to see SRV and then went out Korean bar hopping. While we didn’t hop too much, rank w-a-y too many Jack and Buds (…but iirc, had a really good time…).

Southern Comfort - No, just plain no! 🤐

Scotch - while I don’t recall a really bad experience with it, just can’t seem to stand the smell and for the most part, the taste of it. Have made some exceptions but those have been for special reasons and I man up.

Gin - until a few years ago I never touched the stuff. Tasted like cough medicine. Wifey started to drink gin and tonics and when I took a sip one night, thought it wasn’t all that bad. Mebbe drinking “good” gin as opposed to the cheap chit had something to do with my change in attitude.

Wife and I just had margaritas on the patio after finishing the spring cleaning of the front yard flower beds..
The Mrs will only drink Patron tequila. I don’t complain..

Smelling Cuervo would make me hurl..

I like Hendricks gin a lot, but rarely drink it

Started spring clean-up of the front yard plant/flower beds.

Dug up most of the sparse groundcover (Purple Heart) and placed it in simple trenches in the back yard to park it for a week or two. Then sprayed the entire bed with Round Up. Still got to trim and pesticide my Sago Palm.

Wife cut all the variegated ginger back to the ground because it was getting "leggy" and had too many cold burnt leaves from this wintner.

Sprinkler guy comes like Wednesday to make adjustments and add whatever heads and risers I might need to keep the ground-cover moist because it is tender and almost succulent-like in some ways.

Lawn guy is laying down mulch this week and then next weekend we will simply replant all the sprigs we saved and it will both look good right away and be choking out any weeds within 90 days. Got to call Preen to see if their product is compatibale with the ground cover.

Big problem is we didn't mulch for 2-3 years and weeds got in and started to take over when the sprinklers weren't working right and it dried out the ground cover... [ram27bat]

I haven't had Tequila for many years. Tequila was the preferred, "help me forget how much the job sucks" liquor when we were building the South Texas Project, a very stressful and frustrating job.

Along with long-neck beers, sometimes mixed with vodka, yup. We gargled shots of Tequila, great for a sore throat, and "enjoyed" instant margaritas, sit in a chair, lean back and someone pours Tequila, Tripple Sec, and a squeeze of lime in your mouth. Sounds pretty stupid now.](*,)

Apple crisp is typically a fall seasonal desert. Me, F that... I'm making apple crisp in March. It is so yummy with a nice scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

I'm a rebel. Later I might get really adventurous and tear the tags from of all mattresses and pillows in the house. Maybe wear poka dot shirt and and stripes pants to work tomorrow (mental note... need to order a poka dot shirt and some striped pants) preferably with a huge collar and paisleies like they wore in Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In show.

Wouldn't that be fun? Show up at work wearing styles from the 60's or 70's and pretending like it's just an average day
