Good Easter Sunday Afternoon to All! It's cloudy 57° on the way to 64° today. Overnight rain cleared the pollen temporarily and it is gorgeous outside.

It should be a good day for golfers.

DED yes. 😂

That range would be fun too, but only have a little over a month until my retired director's annual outing. Gotta get dialed in somewhat before then

Drove to NY March 30/31. First day was easy breezy... second day was driving in NJ and NY. So what took me 8 hours day 1 took me 11 hours day 2. 1,016 miles.

Yesterday drove from NY to NC. Once again, NY and NJ blew chunks. Today drove from NC to FL, easy breezy.

Spent some time with my sister and her family, visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, then went to RI for a one night stay. Took the ferry from Long Island to New London and back. Drove by the old neighborhood... not much is different... and ate some local food.

Took back some Iggy's clam cake mix with me.

Good to hear you made it back home safe MACS.

Years ago, went to visit a friend in Jersey via driving from MA to New Brunswick. The trek from MA to Jersey should only be like a 4 hr drive but it felt like 24 hrs (I didn't plan it right and hit stop and go traffic on the Jersey Turnpike). Hated it. Franking driving through Jersey sucks donkey d!cks

A few years later visited I a friend in NYC. This time I took the commuter train out of Hartford into Grand Central Station so I didn't have to deal with traffic into the city.

It was an awesome experience for a Midwestern boy. I don't remember much of the details when I was there (the city never sleeps and we were probably legally drunk for 72 hours straight with maybe 8 hrs passed out time mixed in here and there) but we had a blast. I do remember going all the way to the top of the Empire State Building observatory... awesome view. I then wanted to go to the top of the Chrysler Building and pet one of the gargoyles. Didn't happen.

Ate at some nice places, saw some nice tourist stuff, hailed a cab a few times while bar hopping (an experience on its own)... riding the subway in NY and forgetting when to get off and then trying to to get back to home base was another adventure all on it's own.

One thing is tattooed to my brain is the the stench of the city and the constant crowds of people. That reinforced my lack of desire to live in a big city.
