I’ve run the numbers on buying a boat many times and the answer always come out: just charter one. Comes with a captain, a deckhand, and no maintenance.

I honestly enjoyed having my boat. I bought a cheap, new one. Didn't find it to be excessively expensive.

I will say, though... the older I get the nicer it is to have someone else doing all the work, driving, cleaning the boat, etc... I just catch fish. Hell, over here they even clean the darn things for you for free!

Mornin Ya'll High of 65 today and sunny... Mowning day!!! Momma said we can mow all the lawns today!!! Yee Haa... I'm going to put her in the saddle of our newest mower 2015 Polen Pro 26hp 46" monster of a mower, guy sold it to me for $200 bucks because he got his taxes back and it has a safety set up that you have to shut the PTO/Blades off to go in reverse? (ill figure out how to bypass that) but for now it mowes great!!! the previous owner, more money then brains... said he's heading out to get him a newer zero turn!!! I told him to keep my number in case he wants to sell that one next tax season??? 🇨🇮

My Neph lives in St. Pete, he bought a Kayak and fishes the inlets, paddling all over down in his area, loades it in his Van, pulls into a public area, unloads, fishes all day... he gets a work out paddling and same time ties into some pretty good fishing holes... a month or so back he hooked a shark bigger then his Kayak.. said he kept it hooked long enough to let it pull him closer to his vehicle... less paddling he says!!! 🇨🇮

In this area, when the tide is going in or out, some of those inlets look like fkn rapids. I'll pass on the kayak.

The problem I got into is I want 23’ or more so it can run offshore. Twin engines. Weather radar. Real quickly it starts heading towards $140k. Now I gotta store it. More money.

Screw it. I just charter 6-packs as private charters. Tampa, Cabo, Honolulu, Cancun…. Last time was Bodega Bay. We limited on California King Salmon. That was a bucket list trip. Saw tons of whales also. Had so much salmon we fed 3 neighboring houses! Next up….Port Canaveral.

A small boat just for inshore running around the Indian River and Banana River could be interesting.

For a 6-pack charter, if the price is right... I'd be up for that.

When are you getting out of there? Are your parents anchoring you?

It is all we have known. The nine months of cold weather is THE downside. People here are the heart of Midwest Nice.
No earthquakes or hurricanes. Comparably less crime and a better overall quality of life.

Makes us appreciate warm weather vacations.

Drove an hour round trip to look at a truck. Dealer south of my parents has 3 2022 Silverados with hefty discounts and 0%apr for 48mo. The one I liked was 7500 off msrp but I couldn't pull the trigger on an $800/mo payment. 0% expires may1 so I'll be missing out on this one.

Still on the fence between used and new. Prices are finally coming down to more manageable numbers but used finance rates are insane and over the course of the loan the $36k truck ends up costing the same as that $45k truck at 0% (and add in several k for the inevitable trans blowing). Sales guys always pushing monthly payments but I don't care if you can get my payment to $600/mo if I need to pay that for 7 years I'm paying more overall.

Gonna cash in a big chunk of PTO to get my down payment a lot fatter. Also cut my retirement withholding down to the match rate and stopped roth contributions.

We start the day above freezing (34). It’s the little things that matter. 51 is the forecasted high.
Should be mostly sunny and little wind for an hour mid morning, which will be Kuba Time.
Then we go onto parent stuff.

Pleasant day to all.

May the parent stuff go well. 🙏

68/88 today and sunny. Predicting our first 100 degree day could be this weekend.
