I'm sure some are on consignment or there to be fixed, service...

But who in the hell has $20+++ million in overhead laying around between the bldg, utilities, payroll, insurance, land taxes and ten-twenty++ other business expenses...???


To me it's mind boggling...

Plus I drove north to Hamburg, PA last week saw no less than 3 other massive RV SALES CENTERS WITH MASSIVE FULL LOTS OF INVENTORY...ALL BRAND FREAKIN NEW!!!

All these units sparkled in the sun, New as hell...just cleaning these massive RV's has gotta have a halftime employee every week...

Who in the F@#K HAS $50K FOR A TRAILER?, A TRUCK THE RIGHT SIZE TO HAUL THESE THINGS?
OR $250-400K MOTORHOMES IN LINES BY THE DOZENS?
WHO THE HELL CAN "FRONT THAT KINDA COIN" AND HOPE SOME RICH DIP**** COMES IN AND ACTUALLY BUYS ONE OF THESE $$$$ DOLLAR SUCKING MACHINES FROM THEM??.

RV's can be much more expensive than some houses. 1 near me was half a million... for a frankin' RV! Nope. Not even if I had a billion.

There is a place on I-4 near Lakeland that sells used stuff too, but really makes its money auctioning consigned heavy construction/road equipment/cranes. Big things like excavators and graders. It is so cool to drive by it because you can see the hundreds of massive pieces waiting for auction a mile away.

The RV business thrived during Covid, Camping was considered "safe" the years of COVID were the largest years for RVsales in history. Since 2001 RV sales are up over 25% with an estimated 12 million Families owning RVs.

RV finance is an interesting thing as many of them can be financed for up to 20 years in some cases so it is almost like a mortgage rather then a car payment like many think. You can also get some tax breaks if you can document that you use it enough in the year as it is treated like a home since it has a bathroom and kitchen.

My family purchased an RV in 2016 for 14k and used it about 10 weeks out of every year. the market is so crazy now that whne it was damaged and needed to be totaled out back in December we actually received 16k for it after 7 years of heavy use. (just shy of 10k miles on it from our travels)

it is a crazy and fascinating industry that is still growing. Dealers couldn't keep them in stock and back orders were up to a year in 2021. it is so packed now that campground reservations need to be made months and in some cases a year in advance for some Campgrounds and Many people have chosen to live full time in RVs rather then in a traditional house or apartment.

Most Travel Trailer sales are between 10k and 40k financed over 10, 15, 20 years the payments can be reasonable and much cheaper then hotels if you travel as a family.

one example was my family went to Nashville just before Covid Hit. for 4 nights in a hotel it was going to cost us 800 or more... we were able to pull the trailer and camp for 300, Our camper payment was only 180 a month.


Hershey has the largest RV show every year in September, we have attended every year since 2015 (other then when it was canceled due to covid) and it is always packed.

I'll prolly buy another... I've had a Class C and a Class A... considering a trailer next time tho... 😟

I remember going to a RV show back in the early 80's, looked at one that was just under 250,000 but you could upgrade to the CAT diesel for another 30,000.
