Avocados are awesome. Anyone who doesn't like avocados is automatically suspect... 🤐

I do recall when I first got to CA looking at guacamole and thinking... ain't no freakin' way I'm eatin' that. Turns out it's nectar of the Gods. I had fresh avocado smeared on toast with my eggs & sausage this morning.

Morning, all. Golfing a round with the boy this morning. Temps are high. Humidity is high. I might be high for thinking this is a good idea

Good Monday Morning to All! It's 73° on the way to 92° today, 93% humidity, I'll be working in my shop/lower garage, with the AC running.

Did not make coffee this morning, reheated coffee from yesterday, getting the alarm system set up kept me from enjoying a second or third cup yesterday. Man am I glad I have that done, including the smoke detector in that requires bringing in my twelve foot stepladder and working from the top. I do not like working off ladders, but I am glad I bought fiberglass ladders rated to hold my fat ass and remain nice and steady. 🇨🇮

Morning all.
Woke up at 4am to go to work. arrived at 6am. Apparently, I didn't sleep well enough last night since I took an uninterrupted 3-hour nap promptly after arrival at work. Now it's time for a cigar

Also up at 4am and out the door by 5am. Was able to get in about 3 miles of the 5 before the sun peeked over the McDowell mountains to the east. Cigar on the patio under the fan and cold drink and now ready for the gym.

^Yep... did the pup walk and then hit the gym. Already showered and shaved. Might be time for a smoke and a cold drink.

Round of golf got cut short. Mrs. Beach managed to lock herself out on the balcony back at the house with no phone or water. Luckily the kid set a security camera out there, so she was able to shout at us for rescue. Oh well, we weren't playing that well anyway

Drove to Indy, childrens museum was packed, you'd think it was the weekend. Boy liked it.

The drive home was long. I'd finally break free from a cluster of traffic and set the cruise only to have a semi truck doing 59.5 in the right lane and another doing 60 in the left lane for 15 minutes, get ahead for a couple miles wash rinse repeat. One downside of driving the Ridgeline is I can go fast now. The HD trucks I'd set the cruise at 65-68 and park in the right lane and just arrive whenever I get there. Now I can still get 25mpg doing 80, so I want to do 80.

Friend dropped off a half dozen of fresh corn on the cob earlier. She bought a couple dozen from a local farmer's market. Love me some fresh corn on the cob.

Cooked them all (steamed). I slathered my ears in butter and sprinkled with salt. Yummy. Still a couple or ears left that I'll use for my lunches this week.

Good news, my brother's mother in law Anna (she's 93 yrs old) will be going home tomorrow after a few weeks in the hospital and physical rehab for heart conditions. By family relation she's an adopted grandma. Very strong person mentally but her body is giving away. Sister in law, a nurse, flew to MA on within a day or so when her Mom was taken the ER as a result of her issues. SIL spent a few weeks here and at the hospital then the physical rehab sleeping there most nights to ensure her Mom would be back on her feet again and fully set to go home.

My my brother-in-law and his wife moved in a handful of years ago to take care of Anna. They do a great job. Sadly, time only moves in one direction and is not in favor of old people. $hit it's not favorable to young people either. Just gotta make the best of it while we are alive.

We had to do some rearrangements and replacements in their house for accommodations. Toss out her old recliner and get a self lift recliner chair, redo her bed room and other navigation areas in the house for a walker we bought. Anna might not like us tossing our her old recliner for new one buts is better than the old one. She'll like her new one but probably won't admit it right away. It's got a massage vibration thing, heated seat and stuff. I'd probably fall asleep on the thing within 20 minutes.

These past 5 or 6 months or so have been pretty sucky on a personal level with medical issues of people I deeply care about and some of mine. I can't change it. I can only just try to do my best and keep trudging forward in life.
