Last place I would go for that kind of routine maintenance is a dealer. YMMV.

You wouldn’t need any of that stuff if you have an EV!

I can do all of that routine maintenance in my garage except the alignment... which likely isn't necessary unless you been riding on crap roads or hit a pothole or something.

Full synthetic oil change with Mobil 1, wix oil/air filters, wiper blades... less than $100. Same with the brake fluid... you can go 50-100k miles on brake fluid. Only car I ever had that recommended changing it every 20k miles was a Mercedes C300.

Bought my tires at Discount Tire and they do the balance/rotation for free. YMMV

Still have 4 free oil changes & tire rotation on the Jeep and only have 6800 miles.
Free PA state inspection at dealership.

getting a dose of heat starting today...sposed to hit 95...guessing it'll be hotter...walked at 0830 and it was already 78 when I finished...on the bright side, lows will be about 61, so I can sleep better...

another relief is the heat wave will likely relent next Tuesday, when I have surgery on my left wrist and thumb...post op, it'll be immobilized in a cast for 5-6 weeks...it'd be brutal to have a cast on, sweating and itching during a heat wave...

Got a crown on a molar this morning. Less than joyous. Second one in a year and a third pending. The prior half century plus, none. A matter of time, I guess.

Weather changing today. Overnight low of 69, high today 74.

Tomorrow and subsequent four days, the bottom falls out. Highs on Friday to be 52.

Get a wire handled fly swatter. Slide the handle into the cast to scratch where it itches.

Dealership rapes you on those air filter installs (engine/cabin). Super easy to do yourself, takes ten minutes, saves a couple hundred... Lots of youtube videos to walk you through the three or four steps.

I know. Didn't need the alignment or brake fluid drained. Had a coupon and got everything else for $200. Well worth the money to me. YMMV.

Happy Thursday fellas. Dropped off wife's car at the body shop and picked up the rental.

Stopped at Menards for some stuff. Wife wants to repair drywall dings/holes and repaint the house so that's fun.

Out in the garage smoking some habaneros right now. Decided to smoke em in the garage rather than cook em in the house since it's raining and can't open windows. Never done a smoked hot sauce before.

Good Thursday Almost noon to All! It's 76° on the way to 83° and sunny.

Costco is selling Chili Tamarind Bites, not from Mexico, but from Thailand, they are delicious!

Tamarind and chili is a common candy in Mexico.

8 yesterday was my hammock chair and sail shade takedown day. Did put out the patio heater by the firepit.

Still have a lot of wood to split before winter but it's raining today.

Made 2 bottles of habanero hot sauce. Even though I cooked the peppers in the garage, running the blender in the kitchen aresolized the hot stuff and had wife and I coughing for a while. Did open the windows despite the rain. I ran to the grocery store for ground beefs since the freezer was empty and when I came back the spicy air hit me again.

At least it wasn't really hot peppers.

Chopped up all the jalapenos and got them fermenting.

Only things left in the garden are a few carrots but they can stay past first freeze. The rest of the garden has all been pulled out of the dirt.

Brats for dinner.

Landfill fire has been burning in the area for a day or two, my nose is dead to me. It must be going out, I justed stepped outside and finally didn't smell anything.

The irony is that it was a "green landfill" fire. I just spent the last 36 hours inhaling the 'carbon offsets'.
