Had trouble sleeping last night. Musta been something I ate. Only went 4 miles this morning.

I won't brag about the D-Back being 2-0 on the Dodgers since Al is having surgery. Good luck buddy.

Just because Al is having surgery doesn’t mean the Dodgers don’t suck.

Picking up some OT at work today to pay for this expensive ass month.

Working until Sunday morning then flying to CA Sunday evening and working till the following Tuesday and back to work Weds. Today was going to be my packing day but I left my checklist at work. I always forget something important so I need to work off a checklist. I'll just have to do a little every day.

Booked a parking space at ohare. I usually park at the Ohare Marriott because they have had the best rates in the past. They still do, but everybody raised rates so there goes another $200. I hate flying in/out of ohare, much prefer Midway with onsite parking for $15/day and shuttles that run continuously no waiting to go back/forth to the parking garage. Ohare's shuttle lanes are a mess and the Marriott shuttle is just every 30 min.

Did the walk twice today... 7am-8am and then again 11-am-12pm. Tank was feeling uppity, so I got that energy out of him.

Then I cut the grass. I think I had a stroke. 😟

Would it not be cheaper to take a shuttle like Uber, Lift, or pay someone to drop you off?

Maybe. I looked jnto it a year or two ago and the cost to hire a ride was $80 each way. If I could even get an Uber or whatever.

I asked wife to do it she said no.

I live about 1.5 hours from the airport and I'm flying in and out pretty late at night.

When I fly out of Logan Airport (Boston) there is a shuttle bus that runs out of many of the suburbs and surrounding towns/cities. I crash at a friends house and he drives me into the airport shuttle bus station. The bus takes you and your luggage from hub straight to the airport boarding place at whatever airline you are flying with. I used it a few times in the past couple of years and it's only $9 to get into Logan Airport from the bus hub, $9 to get out of the airport and back to the bus hub. It's about a 45 min ride from the bus hub I use. I think you can park there if you drive yourself in but don't know what they charge you, I just have my friend drop me off and pick me up there since he's only about 20 mins away from the airport shuttle bus hub.

I think they run 24 hours a day with pick up and drop off every 30 minutes. Great deal. Tolls alone to drive into Logan is probably $30, then add in gas and the headache of driving and parking at the airport - ugh. Logan is pretty painful to get into and out of traffic wise. I'd rather chew on aluminum foil for 2 hours than drive into Logan. I'll leave the hassle up to the bus driver. The bus company must have some deal or related to the state and/or the airport and/or the airlines.

The busses are nice too. It's a tour bus type of vehicle. Clean and the seats are more comfortable then the ones you're gonna be seated with on the plane (I'm not rich enough to buy 1st class seats).

I don't think I'll drive myself of ask anyone else to drive me into Logan the rest of my life. Way easier and cheaper to use the bus shuttle service.

I'm with you danm, O'Hare kinda sucks but it's a big hub for airlines.

When I go back to WI to visit family usually the best prices are flying into O'Hare. Then take a puddle jumper from there to Green Bay. I also look into Milwaukee and Detroit but typically flying into Chicago and a transfer to the puddle jumper to GB is cheaper.

Decades ago I used to use Midwest Airlines and fly out of Providence, RI (or was it Hartford, CT?) and flew into Chicago Midway Airport using Midwest Airlines. Back in the day Midwest Airlines served patrons real food and warm chocolate chip cookies. Sadly they are no longer in business.

Have never had a good Ohare experience. Detroit and Minneapolis are both more user friendly and laid out more intiitivly.

If we go to a wamrer climate, will drive to Milwaukee, then to Detroit, Minneapolis or Atlanta.

I'm kinda embarrassed here...got a lotta heart felt sympathy from my CBid brothers due to scheduled surgery...I appreciate all your kind thoughts...

I went to the hospital, went into pre-op and was dressed in a hospital gown, lying on the hospital bed, hooked to an IV...before the anesthesiologist arrived, my Orthopedic doctor who scheduled the surgery back in June, came in to see me.

She asked how I felt and what was going on with my wrist and thumb...I told her that after she injected the area with cortisone back in June, the wrist and thumb has felt better and the pain was minimal...that was the purpose of the cortisone...to reduce the pain until surgery...I told her I could now do most things with my left hand but it isn't as strong as before....I demonstrated the flexibility by touching the tip of the thumb to the tips of the other fingers, which I was unable to do back in June.

She looked pleased and said that although she enjoyed doing surgery and had a lot of experience doing the procedure, she said my wrist and thumb seem to be much improved since my visit in June. She poked and prodded and agreed that a bone spur at the base of the thumb, which was prominent then has disappeared. She said in rare instances the bone and cartilage improve and fuse, resulting in less pain and improved function...and this could be the case. She said there was no guarantee that surgery would make things better, and there was a risk that it would make things worse. Her best advice at this time, what she would tell me if I were a family member, was to postpone the surgery for a while. She said if I need the surgery down the road, she would be ready.

I agreed, got dressed and left the hospital...relieved and hopeful the wrist and thumb remain healthy and relatively pain free.
