That's why the dude ( MUSK) is "very high"

"On the spectrum" aLLeDgeDlY...

He just acts on total impulse ....

Totally makes up his mind in minutes...

Then his spectrum-itis mind wonders why what he wanted a few minutes ago has not already happened...

The dude has zero patience whatsoever...

What he is great at is the big pictures of uber technology, advanced eneering; rockets, satelites, outer space technology, etc.

Those qualities/skills (which we know he excells at ) simply aren't the same as those required to buy, takeover, manage and totally change a product.

He simply made a mistake when he "stepped out of his box."

This will be taught as an example in business schools and law schools, for different reasons for years to come.

All fine and great, yeah? Then why does he have to do EVERYTHING with a government tit to suck on attached to it! That's my grind with him. Great innovator and way to take tech into new areas with new ideas...sure. He's not the "John Galt" character he fancies for himself. I get he has to get into bed with the government because of the intricacies associated with national security, but I don't believe he could survive without a government backstop.

Now, getting back to Twatter. You're focused on the "Why". It's been addressed already that what he's done for Free Speech is monumental and a real peel the veneer back and show us the ugliness that goes into the sausage making. They were a uber left leaning echo chamber. The only ones still butthurt about what Musk has done with their little "playground" are the same ones with multiple accounts shouting down and dissent. Now, the question that nobody near him has asked is was that his intention all along in purchasing it. To show the constraints and control behind the scene...to show how a company lied to Congress, it's own users and were useful to pushing propaganda on the World. Nobody really gives a crap about the money angle. EVERYONE knew it was overvalued. That was due to bloating itself to be unattractive for a buyout. Well, golll-eeeey he bought them anyways. Showed what a whack job that fruitcake was that ran it before, fired more that 75% of the liquid poo "working" there and it's still in existence. Will he get his investment back? I DGAF. What he did to propel Free Speech, that matters. Each day another rat gets dragged into the light. The latest one with deliciousness was the Anti-Defamation League. They got PWN3D! So, him purchasing a shiny new toy to smash it is what it's all about, but then a funny thing happened on the way to the bottom. People lapped up the exposure the Left enjoyed in the shadows of their echo chamber. THAT will be what History has to say about him, not that he lost money on another investment.

Think rfenst and dmv are both right.

Musk is a gifted visionary and individual contributor. His management skills are less profound.
Not sure what his motivation was. Ironic how at great personal cost (I think so anyway) he broke one of the biggest tools dividing America.

Much like the banking scandal of the 2000s, nobody will do a lick of jail time or held responsible.

Funny how a foreigner seems to care more about the constitution than a third of American citizens.

And why arrached to every government tit? Easy. Money. A lot of money in the hands of dumb, aging men who he can easily outmaneuver for financial gain in the long run.

Elon removes Hamas linked accounts…..

Not something Jack Dorsey would have done.

But by golly that share price! Sometimes doing the right thing has a price.

Do you think the buy-out lenders would have jumped on board just for free speach if he did due dilligence before signing the contract? If he did it for free speech, why did he try to get out of the deal?

Sounds like they didn’t do their due diligence, maybe they’ll be harshly judged by future law students and financial pundits.
