They sound neat because they are a unique bike. Most bikes are a V twin or an Inline 4. This bike is a V4. I had a two brothers high mount pipe on mine. It has the grumble of a twin with a little zip of the inline 4. Plus the VFR also (pre 2002) has gear driven cams that REALLY WINE. they are one of the few, if not only bikes that had this type of cam. Honda switched them to belt driven like the rest in 2002 when theY re designed the VFR. Which as far as im concerned really changed the intrinsic value of this bike.

Some people would still call the VFR a rice rocket.. but is is considerd a "sport touring" bike. It has been called for years as one of the BEST ALL AROUND MOTORCYCLES!! You get speed, handling, tourque, and all day comfort. I CANT WAIT TO GET ANOTHER ONE.... BUT.. GOTTA GET MARRIED FIRST!! 🙂
