Last time I bowled was in 2018 in Las Vegas. Pulled BOTH hammies, tweaked my left knee and my hips were sore the next day. Swore I would NEVER bowl again. NEVER! [ram27bat]

We also have a candlepin bowling alley. Candlepin has skinny pins, 3 rolls per person per frame, they don't clear out the knocked down pins between rolls so the fallen "wood" can help you knock down standing pins or they can get in the way. The balls are small - slightly larger than a softball with no finger holes. The lanes are not oiled so there is no skidding sliding of the balls.

The alley has been around forever and was on the second generation of ownership. It was like stepping back into the 70's for decor and the lanes were kinda warped but it was still fun to take the kids. You had to keep your own scores and you paid on the honor system. When you're done bowling, just tell the guy how many games you rolled and pay.
In the past year or so, the guy that owned it sold it. The new owners closed it down for a while while they did renovations. It reopened this past summer but I haven't visited the it to see the remodel.
I use to be a pretty good bowler. I even took bowling in college (we had to take X number of credits of physical education. I picked bowling, golf, and badminton or something). Since then I learned to suck at bowling - lucky if I can break triple digits but I don't get injured.
Ice skating... that's another story. Last time I ice skated was 8 or 10 or so years ago when the kids were young. The local indoor skating rink did a thing where you could bring your kids and the high school hockey players were there to run a learn to skate clinic. We went, rented ice skates. While the kids were teamed up with one of the hockey players to learn to skate, I just tooled around the other end of the ring. Keep in mind I haven't skated since probably junior high but it's like getting riding a bike and it comes back to you even if you haven't done it in years. I still could skate just fine.
The day after ice skating for a couple hours my groin muscles, calf muscles, thigh muscles were rather upset at me and my legs wanted to disown me for a couple days. Hence to say, I haven't ice skated since that lower body rebellion.
