Mornin Ya'll... been a busy few days and going to get busier!!!

Today was the hearing for a contesting of signatures for our local fire department to be placed on the ballot for tax payers to vote on a tax to help maintain our volunteer fire department finances as many of the routine doners have passed away and it takes allot to keep training and equipment up. the January meeting the Mayor said this topic will not be discussed because it's in litigation. back in September/October when the issue was addressed the Mayor stated and I confirmed it later with our Fire Chief that the city is contesting the signatures to make the ballot... One would have to ask, Why? The city attorney was circling the hallway when I got their but he never entered the courtroom? the Bailiff I went to school with and told him to step on in the hearing so he did and shut the door behind him. So how many times does this council want to step on their d*cks? the COVID Relief funds were put into a "Special Projects Fund" that went into putting camera's around the park and out at the lake, Purchasing a new squad car that sits on the square most the time with the other one because this chief cannot keep officers under his watch and oh yes to demolition two buildings on the square for $120K that one Alderman wants the Tax Payers to pay for repairs for his wall that abutted the buildings removed. the engineering firm ran into unsettled walls during their operation which led one property owner pay out of pocket to repaired his wall at a cost of $160K and then had to purchase the two parcels in a sheriffs sale because they issued him a permit to build without the court proceedings on the property to release leans from the owner and the State of Illinois and another A/C contractor. I addressed all these *uckup's on record at these council members and this is where we are today... heading to court and my gloves are Off!!! Ya'll will probably be seeing this hit National News? Disabled Combat Vet for 36 months has been denied his right to prosper off his property... WHY? 😣 😣

Mornin' dudes. Coffeed up... waiting on the sun before we start the walk. It's 42 degrees but the sun will help a little.

Wifey and I gonna go get some glasses today. I just need some for the computer/reading, she needs them for driving. Gonna get that blue tint for cpu glare on mine. She wants to get the transition so it darkens in the sun.

Been on the reading glasses for about three years. Will convert to full time glasses eventually. Don’t need them for driving, just I’d I want to read something in 14 pica print or less.

Friend of mine went to full time glasses about a year ago. Said for a month, it was difficult to get into the habit of putting them on in the morning. Now, they are just part of his face.

Probably have a dozen pair of readers all over the house, but can only find three.

What chance do I have if I only have one pair of real glasses? 🤓

Readers over Contacts? Huh.

I did catch my wife reading using two pairs of glasses at the same time. She took off one pair and looked away.
Guess your situation is similar.

So... we decided to have breakfast at da waffle house. Puppy dog sat under da table and was a good boy, so he got a taste of sausage and some toast. 😇

I used to do that before I got bifocals. Due to the vanity factor I spent the extra $200 for the progression ones since insurance would only pay for the spit lense variety.

I’ve been wearing bifocal glasses for about 10-12 years myself. Started wearing contacts a couple years ago. Optometrist asked me if I wanted bifocal contacts. Asked him how they managed to do that with a contact. He laughed and said one eye is one Rx for reading and one is a different Rx for everything else.

I thought about it for a second and he confirmed that if I didn’t I keep the reading eye closed all but when reading; everything such a highway signs would be blurry in one eye. Sounded like a chitty solution especially since I drive about 130,000 or more miles a year. Probably drive 40,000 or more when it’s dark out.

So I got the contacts for normal vision. Then put on a pair of readers when I need to read or trying to tie a fishing knot or something like that.

I keep a pair of bifocals as well as contacts. That way I can see when I don’t have my contacts in. Some days I don’t even bother with the contacts if one of my eyes is irritated because I wore a contact inside out or I scratched my eye taking a contact out.

Plus with contacts I can wear sunglasses which is a must when you’re driving all day. On days when I don’t feel like putting in my contacts I put my Ray-Bans over my glasses. Since my glasses also auto darken I get a little extra relief from the sun on days I don’t wear contacts.

Our older son does that too. He's had contacts since he was a teenager, even during his year in Iraq. I've always worn glasses, bifocals now, just could not get used to the idea of a lens in my eye.

Probably more a mental thing for me. Both sons got contacts when they needed glasses. Older son had just gotten them but managed to get them in even with hot sauce on his fingers, as a teenager he was not going to risk anything that might distract girls. LOL

progressive readers here. I buy the cheapo packs of them off Amazon so I have them everywhere, except where I happen to actually be at the moment I need them.

I feel your pain... when I had my woodshop running full blast and busy as hell... many times I'd get side tracked for 15-20 minutes all over the shop in a panic, looking for my glasses for 15-20 minutes each time.. only to slow down and realize they were on top of my head.. same thing with Pencils.. Tape measure on my hip... Oh the Agony of Complacency when in a hurry!!! 🤦
