I have increased my tax advantaged contributions by whatever raise I get every year, so my take home has not really changed in 10 years. I can always cut back on that (currently almost 30% off the top) to cover the difference if the OT isn't sufficient.

It's the week on week off schedule I'm most worried about. It's been a great time with lots of time off but I can't do that schedule on days. I haven't done a M-F since 07. Also because of the ongoing short staffing issues that haven't improved in 4 years (I would say it's gotten progressively worse since they're no longer throwing money at us to bridge the gap and instead just telling us to do more with less) when I show up for work now, I don't know where I'm working. We get sent all over the hospital. At least in a procedure area I won't have to deal with that. On the other hand, there's no end time to my shifts. Only a start time. So I'll know where I'm working but not when I'm working.

I'm anxious and excited.
