Democrats condemned the former president, who has made such claims in the past

Donald Trump has again claimed the Democratic Party “hates Israel” and that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats “hate” their religion, recycling a claim he made as president that such voters show disloyalty to their faith.

“I actually think they hate Israel,” the former president told Sebastian Gorka, a former adviser who hosts a conservative radio program, in a lengthy interview posted late Monday.

A few moments later he added that Democrats “see a lot of votes” among Americans who are calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war and are therefore toughening their stance with Israel.

“Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel and they should be ashamed of themselves,” Trump said.

President Biden’s campaign quickly condemned the comments.

“The only person who should be ashamed here is Donald Trump,” James Singer, a Biden campaign spokesman, said. “Trump is going to lose again this November because Americans are sick of his hateful resentment, personal attacks, and extreme agenda.”

Trump made the comments in response to a question from Gorka on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D., N.Y.) call this past week for a “new election” in Israel.

Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish politician in the U.S. and a staunch ally of Israel, criticized Trump’s comments in an online post Monday evening.

“To make Israel a partisan issue only hurts Israel and the US-Israeli relationship,” he wrote on X. “Trump is making highly partisan and hateful rants.”

Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish advocacy group, also criticized Trump in a posting on X.

“Accusing Jews of hating their religion because they might vote for a particular party is defamatory & patently false,” he wrote. “Serious leaders who care about the historic US-Israel alliance should focus on strengthening, rather than unraveling, bipartisan support for the State of Israel.”

Trump made similar comments during his presidency, including in 2019.

“Any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty,” he said in the Oval Office during a stream of comments about Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.), the first two Muslim women members of Congress who had earlier been barred from entering Israel.

Several Jewish organizations at the time also condemned those remarks, including by pointing out that accusing Jews of “disloyalty” to their country is a longstanding antisemitic trope.

Jews have long voted heavily Democratic. In 2021, the Pew Research Center reported that 71% of Jewish voters said they were Democrats or leaned that way.

If you don’t vote for him, you ain’t Jewish.

Let me see if I have this right...we broker this 2 state solution to Israel (coincidence that the majority of the time its a Democrat in the White House and Nobel Peace Prizes are tossed about like participation trophies!)...with their land...with US taxpayer funds we "help" the Palestinians with "humanitarian aid"...they in turn don't funnel the money or supplies to the actual people in need...for decades...instead they use the pipes we sent to build rockets and missiles because, well who needs clean water and sewers? Then at the same time have children's versions of Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood broadcasting it's okay to kill Israelis and that they're not human...all while funding spouses with "pensions" because their hubby's were killed battling for "freedom" within the confines of hospitals, daycare centers and schools???


Where am I wrong? It sounds very counterproductive to any long standing commitment to Peace. Now, after this latest massacre (let's call it what it was!) the nation was supposed to do what? Let it slide? The perspective I see it in is a bit over 9 million people and they lost 1,200 (and 31 Americans!), who knows how many wounded and raped that puts our 9/11 as a scratch in comparison. Was the World supposed to let Israel take it on the chin again? My answer is let them clean the slate. But, how can I be so heartless? Let's see...not a single neighboring nation would admit the fleeing Palestinians into their nation, because they're terrorists! Why should Israel put up with them digging a complete tunnel system underneath their feet and wait for another sneak attack? The World won't miss these fanatical busybodies. Take them out. Let Israel develop their land and their nation.

As for Trump's comments...he made them. Most of the time he's saying what most dare to think out loud. I get that, because I too dare to speak that what most won't admit to verbally say out loud. I suppose one could hold it in, but it's like holding a beachball underwater. It's tiring and sooner or later someone is going to get splashed whether they're the recipient or not. To his point it does seem counterproductive. Netanyahu has the backing of his people to weed out the attackers despite Chuck "You" Schumer's claim to upend a free election with one of his choosing! Think about that for a second. The Democratic Senate Leader calling for the removal of an elected official because he dares to defend his people and nation!?! He likes to wave his yamaka when it's convenient for a political statement. This is a leading Democrat. We have a President that waited days to utter words about the attack, sided with Israel and backpeddled to the point where he's pro Hamas and damning Israel. No, I can somewhat see where Trump is coming from on this one. Remember when Bathhouse Barry made Bibi and the Dalai Lama use the backdoor to leave the White House with garbage bags waist high? No? That was the indignation the Democrat party has shown for over a decade now and with Clownshoes in charge why would you expect a change in attitude towards Israel? You can't have it both ways and expect decent results. It's a repeated pattern of behavior. Remind me how many decades it was made that the US would move it's diplomats to Jerusalem and who got that done again.
