81414 United Cigars Abuelo from darklord trade. Another total unknown. Never had never seen never heard of. Moderately dark brown wrapper, looks and feels thin and fragile but it's fully intact in clear cello. Minimal veins with stretch marks by the veins. Worried it'll be another dry habano small batch bullchit.

First light had me do a double take. Wow... this is my jam. Corojo for sure, and gotta be Eiroa behind this. I just looked up JRE and CLE brands this morning in Abrignacs post I don't think I saw united cigars.

Minerals, mild spices, little cedar, a little salty tickle in the back of my nasopharynx. Old world style cigar for sure. As it smoked down a little creaminess coats the mouth. No pepper on retro, just minerals and spice no bite.

I'm looking it up after 2 ash drops. I can't wait to halfway.

81415: RP Vintage 99 church. I always seem to be working on a 5 pack of these. #3 of 5 from last year. Cold draw has just a hint of spice, not much else. Initial lighting has that overwhelming mineral taste from the Dominican filler that reminds me of those nasty local DR cigars that the missionaries would share at conferences. Thankfully, it subsides some in a few minutes with those classic Connie tastes moving in. Bright white ash. Started this cigar with a good Murchies coffee, but the acidity from the coffee and the minerality from the cigar was too much, switched to a mid morning Coors and that helped in more ways than one. By the one third mark the minerality has died down, more slight spice. Great smoke volume and color, even burn. By two third mark, spice takes over (nutmeg) with a nice hint of Irish cream finish. Toward the end the minerality comes back, not nubbing it. Unfortunately, this is typically with most RP five packs. One makes you question why you bought it (this one) 2 are solid and 2 make you want to buy more. Will wait a few months to smoke the next one.

^Ya I don't judge a cigar on just one, but also like others have said taste is extremely subjective. Might not be for you. If you don't like another one put the rest away to see if they or your tastes change and try em again in 6 Months. Sometimes youll like em better later.

81419: HdM Tradicion Toro: Bought a box in 2021 and planned on smoking one per year for 25 years. #4 of box. Love the combination of Rosado wrapper, habano binder and mostly Honduran filler. I don't retro many cigars, but this one is great: spicy, but not peppery. Big cigar, but light in the hand. Complex throughout: nutty, spicy, some cedar and a hint of pepper. Wheelhouse cigar. Probably gonna smoke one a month for a while, sooo good.

81420 Oliva O Churchill from darklord trade. One of my least favorite cigars. The first box of cigars I bought on cbid was Oliva O Churchill. Still have the box it holds heartfelt beads.

Awful cigar. Construction and burn were perfect. Smoked half of it. Notes of burning cardboard, very dry. Nothing in there I liked. Still one of my least favorite cigars. At least its consistent

81422: La Herencia Cubana Toro
Nice mix of salty / savory, pepper and leather out the gate, transition throughout the middle 2+ inches was rough with acrid smoke that left my lips stinging and burning and the flavor was just blown out like burning paper. The last couple inches was a bit creamy and nutty with a pleasant light leather flavor. I’ve never smoked one of these with that rough transition in the middle.

81425 Emilio Grimalkin maduro from darklord trade. Another unknown but I've at least seen pictures of it on retailer sites and cigar groups. Still know nothing about the brand or the cigar. So I'll wait to halfway before looking it up. Seems very hyped on social media, I see it at least daily if not more. Haven't really seen anyone talk about em, but the upvotes and high fives run deep when these show up in images.

It's a barberpole wrapper dark tan and dark brown. Continues to a multicolor nipple cap and extends to a closed foot. First light tastes like a habano with extra sweetness. Like dry hay and maple syrup. This is promising. Or they used up every bit of skill in making it pretty.

Smokes pretty slowly but I do have to draw pretty aggressively to get any real smoke out of this thing. It's gonna get hot n go sour on me. If I don't, it seems like it's on the verge of going out each time I go for another puff. Thinnest wisps of smoke if im not really pulling hard.

It continues with a profile very similar to the Caldwell Blind Man's Bluff I had yesterday. Very very similar. Leather is the predominant note, some burning in my sinuses on retro but I wouldn't call it any type of spice, but more like the unpleasant fumes from a tire fire. The leather isn't straight boot leather, there's a sweet caramel note to it. Like going to the boot store with your grandpa and he gives you a partly melted Worther's Original that's been in his pocket since 1987.

Looked it up. Halfwheel seems to agree with me, they gave it a 79. How this chit is a $10+ cigar and is super hyped on cigar social media is beyond me. I see pictures of it in my feeds every day. I was honestly looking forward to this one for a while. I thought I'd grind through that Oliva O and treat myself with the Grimalkin tonight. It's better than the O, but I bought a second one of these based off hype. Thankfully just a single.
