816xx Camacho Corojo - big band Camacho. From darklord trade. Anticipating great disappointment.

Lil spicy, leathery, lil minerally/dry earthy. Draw is on the tight side but this is a Churchill maybe it'll open up at some point.

It's close but no cigar. If the Aladino corojo didn't exist for a comparison I'd feel it was close enough to my memory of the real Camacho corojo. I wanted to hate it. But 2" in, I'm calling it a decent to good cigar. I wouldn't buy them over the Eiroa corojo offerings but aside from that, as its own thing, it's good.

With 3" remaining it's getting downgraded to decent. No progression, it stayed the same from those first 2" to now. Being a Churchill, that also means I've been sitting here for an hour and a half and honestly I'm bored. Gonna just set it down and go inside.

I’mma 98.2% sure that I once tried a new / big band Camacho Corojo Robusto and purdy sure I didn’t think much of it. One thing I know fo’ sure is that when I tried my first JRE Aladino Corojo, I *knew* at first puff that it was the real thing and there was no need to look any further.

81618 Crowned Heads Le Careme first one I've had.

Initial light deep rich earthiness and a good bit of pepper. Weird box press more of a squished cigar like they were trying to do the oval press thing.

After first ash a bit of mineral notes come out, still rich earthiness still peppery retro but it subsided to almost none by halfway. Sweet nutty notes with the rich earthiness and the texture is borderline rich and creamy. This tastes like a cigar that will age out well. Surprised by the progression. It's quite nice. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a sale box of these.

81646 Tat Tuxtla Lomo de Cerdo

This one is my favorite in the Tuxtla line. The Avion is in second place, but I rarely have time for a cigar that long.

I’ve had a few and thought they were pretty decent but this one was not a good tasting cigar.

81649 - RP 20th Vintage anniversary toro

In my humi for 15 mos. Firm cigar, but not particularly heavy in hand. Started smooth and sweet with mild baking spice. 25 min to first ash drop and relatively simple. Second ash drop at 45 minutes and it's barely past 2" in and no change. I want something to balance this sweetness out but not getting anything. At the half I am fighting a harder than appreciated draw, but the sweetness is fading to a drier strong-ish tobacco flavor and a little pepper zing on the retro. Fighting to draw, but it's otherwise burning straight and true. Rolled it in between my fingers and teeth to loosen up the second half and it finally draws like a champ. Have to purposefully slow my draw 'cause now it's starting to heat up. Last third comes in with some strength. Burn time is an hour and a half, but it was like it only had 60 minutes built in. Maybe the draw issue. If it had been a CG or robusto the overall experience would have been more enjoyable. I won't mid smoking again, but hope the draw is better.

The second third has that salty twang I enjoy but not in large amounts. A bit of cedar throughout. Not a keeper but I didn’t hate it.

I've not tried either of those. The 15th Anniversary was my first experience with the Quesada brand. I was thoroughly impressed by it. I just ordered another five online after I posted.

And to Jeebs’ post, FOMO is real but…be patient. Iffin’ they don’t sell out, the small place will offer them up for sale again. Typically they don’t change the discount so in a few weeks you’ll be able to get them at the same price.

I’m definitely in the search and find mode of operation and I’m slogging through the labels. I started with cheap stuff and working my way into more expensive boutiques as I learn what I like and what I don’t like. I will keep my eye on the small place sales and probably buy the Quesada if it comes up again. Thanks, Palama.

My first time with this brand. I’m looking forward to the next one and I hope it doesn’t have a tight draw like this one had.
