81933 Aladino Corojo Reserva I'm pretty sure with thanks to Palama but it was out of cello and already cut. I remember doing that, don't recall the circumstance but it happened.

It's a lovely smoke.

Connecticut wrapper. Nothing bad to say about this cigar. The draw was a peg tighter than I prefer but the burn presented no issues. I knew I was smoking a mild Connie but there was zero creaminess, nuttiness, pepper or leather. Somewhat sweet aftertaste and retro. I’ll let the other 3 sleep for awhile but I don’t expect much of a change. On a brighter note, my hoard of cheap fivers is getting smaller by the week and the slightly costlier boutique stash is growing and getting plenty of rest at proper RH.

81942: Fuente Fuente Opus X Double Corona: citrus and pepper on the cold draw. First third: leather, citrus and cedar. This old cigar has melded together well. Perfect draw, wavy burn. Second third: more pepper, less citrus on the draws. Last of this size. Final third transitions to more pepper and coffee with the initial leather and a hint of light spice. Still has a citrus note on the lips. Not as overwhelmingly strong as I remember, more medium full. 2 hours well spent.

This cigar was enjoyable. Great construction although I could see the seems they weren’t raised. I don’t understand why visible seems are a detractor, I never seem to notice a difference in my smoking experience. The wrapper was veiny, shiny, mottled. The shininess and mottled spots increased after lighting. The cigar had a common barnyard scent and the cold draw was unremarkable. Kickoff had lots of pepper, especially the retro, and earth, leather. The first inch transitioned quickly to a subtle sweet aftertaste with a familiar taste I can’t nail down. It reminded me of Canadian whiskey and lemon zest but just faintly. The lemon zest hung in there until the end, as did the sweet finish. I think I could place a minor hint of caramel coffee in that aftertaste but I would not oversell that observation. Into the last third the burn went sideways on me and I didn’t touch it up. It ended up needing long overheating tugs to keep burning. I backed off when it got bitter and the cherry died. Certainly not a great cigar but I think overall tasty and so…not bad.
