Meant to post this yesterday:

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/dickey-betts-allman-brothers-band-dead-727523/

Sadly, saw the Allmans only once, Sept. 29, 1973. Duane and Berry had already passed by then but the release of “Brothers and Sisters” just a month earlier elevated them to new heights. As far as the concert goes, lots of youthful activities that night so memories are very hazy. “Wasted Words” opened the show with Gregg on guitar (…iirc, a black SG…). Also remember Dickey being on FIRE 🔥 that night.

Passing of a great contributor is bitter sweet. He had a successful music career and was a great artist. Still, even at 80 y/o, it is a sad piece of news. Thanks for sharing that information, Palama.

Man, I’ve been through so many iterations of LaFE it ain’t funny.

Original pink label Capricorn Records vinyl
“New” Capricorn Records label vinyl (…sneakingly exchanged my worn out pinks for the new…)
Double CD release
Single remastered CD
The Fillmore Concerts double CD
Expanded double CD
The Fillmore East Recordings 6-CD set

I haven’t, yet, gone through the entire 6-CD set. Everytime I try, it’s kinda too much to listen to (almost) the same songs that many times in a row. Mebbe I should just do 1 CD at a time. Hmm…. 🤔
