Just a shot from one of my favorite herfing spots.

It's about a half hour, slow drive, from home.

I Love Arkansas

i love arkansas. i took my wife and two boys there two years ago to visit some family in russelville. we went to a creek a couple of times that was about 30 minutes away. it was really pretty. it's hard to find a creek or lake or river that isn't pretty there except maybe the arkansas river. we need to go there again sometime soon. it's a beautiful place to do some hiking.

I agree, Arkansas is absolutely beautiful.

Short story.

In the '70's I'm moving back to California from Florida in a '50 Buick Special that I bought for $50. I blew a water pump outside Ozark and pulled into a small gas station. The attendent pops the hood, tells me what the problem is, walks into his office, comes out with the exact part I need. He tells me it's faulty but he can rebuild it with the parts from mine but it would take a day. He sends me down the street to a motel. As I'm checking in the guy sees the address I'm moving to. Turns out he was raised a few blocks away from me in SF. He doesn't charge me, get's the restaraunt next door to feed me free, and the next day I'm on the road again. I got a chance to wander around town, view the Ozark river up close, and become thoroughly enamored of that state in the course of one single day. Total bill, $47.

Yep, Arkansas. One of my favorites.

Hey Lofty1,

This picture was taken roughly 30 miles from Russelville. Small world.

Gorgeous. Reminds me of some of the places back home in RI where we used to go swimming or fishing.

Not sure,

What part of MO is Doniphan in?????

This picture was taken 30 miles North of Russellville AR, just off Big Piney Creek, outside of Ft. Douglas Arkansas. It is probably 1and 1/2 hours south of Branson MO.

By The way Buckwheat,

There aren't many fish in Haw Creek, but it feeds the big piney creek, which has abundant numbers of smallmouth bass, great ultralight fishing creek.
