Hey Allen, and DED how about Peter Gajewski Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 or Luis Vieira Reserva Lente (blend)/? I really enjoy those because I can taste different things like blueberries or red / black plum, and the tannins don’t overwhelm my palate. Are they crap wine? Or decent? I don’t think it matters much as long as I enjoy drinking the wine. I’m just thinking if these are the qualities I enjoy, you might be able to suggest something even better but hopefully not over $30 bottle maximum. I pay about $13 on Naked Wine dot com for the wine I mentioned.

Jake, Mauricio Lorca “Angels Selection” Malbec 2022. Have you tried it? I love it. Also about $13 on Naked dot com

I’ve tried other wines from Naked and I use the coupon I get in my CBid shipments so I think it’s ok to mention their website. Anyway, I look forward to suggestions and discussion if the mood strikes any of you brothers of the grape BOTG lol

I'm not familiar with either of the wines you mentioned prolly because they are captured by Naked Wine and not available at most retailers. Just like cigars everybody has their own tastes and if those wines work for you go for it.

I tried Naked Wine years ago but didn't find any wines they shipped were worth ordering again. A few were okay sippers and some were downright not very good wine at all IMO. We prolly only buy about 20% cabs and tend to like Syrah/Shiraz and Zins more often. We rarely pair our wines with meals.

We had some friends over for Rib eyes and pulled out a few oldies but goodies. It was a pleasant evening with good wine and good conversation.

Jake, how did you like the Silk and Spice, it is one of our favorite Portuguese wines.

Allen, how long do you keep your bottles? Have you had them since 2005 and 2010? For a $20-ish bottle of Cab Sauvignon does it matter if it is a year old? Two? Is there a target I should aim for as far as how many years old the wine is for the price range of $20-ish? I appreciate your thoughts.

Much less fruit driven than most US wines. Doing a little research before our trip in August.
