The Dude abides.

Cats are natural predators and even if they are indoor cats their whole life, hunting is in their DNA. It's like trying to get a Labrador to not like water or a Husky to no like snow... ain't gonna happen. He's an indoor cat but stares at birds and stuff outside as if on a hunt. I'm sure if any mice try to get in, he'll be the first to know and deliver a carcass to your feet. "Look what I found, can you get me another? This one seems to not be moving anymore."

Part of me wants to put one of those suction cup bird feeders outside on one of his the window of his perches but that would be mean. Poor Jasper doing face plants against the window while the birds mock him.

I've always had cats and dogs in my life. Humans and many pets are pack animals. They become part of your family (pack) and we become part of their family (pack). I've never owned a horse but I understand that they also have that same relationship with us humans.

The Cicada symphony is in full swing. These are not as bad as some previous years here and in Texas, just a continuous hum. Much lower than the tinnitus tone that is my constant companion.

Dare I say…DOUBLE NICKELS

Good afternoon. 86/70. Might rain a bit even though our dry season last another 4-6 weeks. Had to add 3" water to the pool that evaporated over the last 7-10 days.

Still in pajamas and will be for the rest of the day.Football and bball today.

Put on a coat in 80 degrees and attacked a stand of palm trees in the back yard. Only slightly feel like a pin cushion but I'm down about a quart on coolant about now.

Cicadas are edible. Maybe make a stir fry with them. Salt, pepper, garlic, onion, some sauce of your choice with some veggies laird out on a bed of jasmine or wild rice. As a side have a garden salad with some grasshoppers for an extra crunch. Appetizer: deep fried pickles.

Palm spikes are wicked. We have some Sago palms in containers, apparently they are toxic, I know the deer never touch them.
