82548 Rocky Patel DBS from darklord trade.

Fantastic cigar. I want more but they're too expensive. Double broadleaf binder with MSA wrapper had me worried. But it's balanced perfectly. Smoke production like a ligma private. Spicey but equally sweet. Earthy but not filthy. If I find these for $10-12 I'll grab a fiver.

82540 Lunatic

The first thing that caught my attention was that the foot smelled of chewing tobacco, I'm southern and know what chewing tobacco. The construction is first class with no leaks. The first draw had the taste of grass. It picked up an earthy flavor. The last third is truly full flavor and strong. I advise not to attempt on an empty stomach. I smoke full cigars daily and I was glad I'd just ate.

Final thoughts. This cigar has potential to become great if it will respond to aging. Time should meld the flavor, smooth the smoke and remove the slight amonnia from it.

82556 Espinosa Laranja Escuro.

Starts off dry, woody, and the other things I hate. After just a half inch this has one of the most distinct dark chocolate covered coffee bean flavors I've had in a cigar. It's still astringent and I'm not loving it but it's very distinct flavor. Very strong pepper on retro. Eye watering. I'm also dehydrating habaneros in the garage 10ft from my recliner, may contribute to the eye irritation. It wasn't bad, maybe decent. Definitely not my ham. Tossed halfway.

I could see it being a lot more something I'd enjoy with some age on it. It was in a free sampler from tenski with $100 purchase. I think I have one more. I'll let it sleep

Mahalos to Euodias (kinda MIA). During the 2016 Long & Skinnies Box Pass, Makana sent me a very nice 5er. Believe it or not but this is the first one I'm ashing up!

Yup, a real shame that the selection variety has narrowed so much in the last few years. Once upon a time you could get some good deals on upper end smokes but MAP effectively killed that. The well-known site was also a great alternative and I truly miss those days of getting Fuente 8-5-8 Maduros, Tat Brown Label Reservas and PAM 64 Principes and Coronas for well under list price.

82564: Oliva Connie Reserve Churchill thanks to Jake
Wasn’t expecting much because I haven’t had the best luck w/Oliva. Never tried this blend. This was a good cigar. The cello was yellow so this one must have had plenty of rest. It was mellow first third, medium second third, back to mellow in last third with slightly different profile. Beautiful wrapper and construction w/lots of smoke. Nutty with a slight tasty sour lining. Final third had occasional hits of mild anise, not enough to put it off for me. Final third also showed occasional hits of mineral and salt. Cool smoker all the way. Just a small edge of molasses mixed w/minerals, not on every draw, not overwhelming. Installing patented Tele-nubber. This was a good smoke and when I need to stock up on Connie I would buy a fiver for the mix. Thank you, Jake.

82565 Nub Cameroon 4x60

First nub I've ever tried. Hardly any smell or taste prelighting. Construction at first glance. From the first puff this cigar is very mild giving the African Cameroon wrapper the chance to shine. The newer Cameroons blends overpower what a great wrappers they really are. As you smoke it the spice builds but doesn't get overwhelming. This was a very enjoyable surprising smoke. Again this is one I'm going to look forward to with a years aging. Will recommend to anyone that enjoys Cameroon wrappers. You won't be disappointed.

82566 Dumbarton Stillwell Star English no27.

I love cigars and I love English blends when I smoke a pipe. Dunno how the combination will go.

Starts off fairly mild, goes medium quickly but with a smokey English pipe tobacco in there. Not overpowering. Wonderful rich creamy texture. I like it. Don't know that I'll buy more but I enjoyed this one. Seems like I could replicate the experience by smoking a Sobremesa and a cob of Nightcap simultaneously. When I'm into smoking pipes I don't touch cigars and vice versa. Somehow this is a good bridge between the two worlds.
