THE GAMBLER

On a warm summer's evening
On a train bound for nowhere
I met up with the gambler
We were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns a-starin'
Out the window at the darkness
The boredom overtook us

And he began to speak
He said, "Son, I've made a life
Out of readin' people's faces
Knowin' what the cards were
By the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin'
I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice"

So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his face lost all expression
Said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

Every gambler knows

That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep"

And when he'd finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
Faded off to sleep

And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words

I found an ace that I could keep
You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

You've got to know when to hold 'em (when to hold 'em)
Know when to fold 'em (when to fold 'em)
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

I,m still not understanding the falsification charges.
These Trump Inc "falsified" records, were and remained internal
accounting property. Never transmitted to, nor seen by anybody
or used to procure a loan or close a deal..Who is the victim?
Using that logic, You could face Larceny charges for switching
your wallet from left to right pants pocket!!

As I'm sure you also recall, he NEVER followed through with it, unlike all those listed above.

True. I never thought the chants of “Lock her up” were appropriate or a good idea, even with her admitted lawbreaking and denouncing the Trump supporters as a basket of deplorables. On the other end of the spectrum I was and still am disappointed that Trump didn’t pursue an investigation into the shenanigans of the Clinton campaign. I do understand it is a wise move to let it die once the election was over and to pursue a plan of action to accomplish the goals Trump campaigned on, BUT it ended up biting us all in the butt and we are still hurting from that miscalculation. That’s just my opinion.

What I’m not saying is that Trump should have tried to make her look bad or to lock her up. Rather I’m saying that a serious independent investigation was warranted.

Absolutely agree with that. I was disappointed that an independent investigation didn’t happen. I think Trump screwed the pooch here. I just thought the chanting at huge rallies made MAGA look like a misguided mob. That’s all I mean. But nobody is above the law.

Trump has been going to court asserting not that he is above the law - but that it does not apply to him. (wink)

And that he did nothing wrong. (wink)

And that E. Jean Carroll needs to stop bullying him....

Ya, I heard Clarence Thomas has read the Constitution and more importantly understands the words.
In fact, anybody who has read the Constitution and understands the original meaning of those words can't help but conclude that Biden has used the document as his toilet paper.

Haven't had internet in a week. Had an area outage due to a storm. Didn't seem too bad to me-- we didn't even lose power.

Who knows. I went a year and a half without internet so a week aint **** to me.

Anyway, the entire time I wondered if Trump was guilty or not. Several sleepless nights. I almost went out and bought a newspaper...

Now that I know what happened, I feel as if my life is now complete.

The end.
