Polls are not worth much, that being said, Trump is no longer leading in the polls. He is not leading in the popular vote overall. He is not leading in the swing states. I believe the swing voters, independents, and moderates are tired of what he is and are now energized to vote. The Biden and Harris ticket was a less bad ticket, but a ho hum, who cares? The Harris and Walz ticket is a decent option and now we care. What you are seeing now is not a bump, but rather a trend. Harris and Walz are playing emotional politics better than Trump and Vance are. I think the Republicans downstream that bet on Trump are in trouble and know it. Fortunately they are to late to walk it back and change their image. At least for myself the election is now interesting. I still intend to vote 3rd party. Though perhaps not possible I think a 3rd party needs to be relevant to reverse the us against them trend. While I think the Harris Walz ticket is far better than the Trump Vance ticket, I do not think it is any more than average at best. I demand great ticket from either party so I can vote for one of them again.

Which poll/s are you referring to? Or do you get a summary of polls from a news source? I haven’t looked at any recently.

Jeebster, the poll Abrignac mentions is one of them. Others keep popping up daily. Harris is down 5 points in Florida, this is a total surprise in that Florida is now in play. On a national average Harris is up 2 points. Harris is up in Minnesota l, as to be expected due to Walz. She is tied or ahead in Nevada and Arizona. She is down 1point in North Carolina. Trump is losing moderates and independents. He is also losing Blacks and Latinos. He is also losing the under 30 crowd. At first this appeared to be a blip. But it is showing as a trend. This comes from various poles from both sides. Keep in mind, any pole can be manipulated in various ways. Trump needs to stop his narcissistic ways and focus on the issues, I do not think he is capable of this. Republicans are now telling him to focus. I think in 2 or 3 weeks they will be bailing to a certain extent. I think Trump is incapable of such a change. This was obvious on X last night.

Of course the only poll that counts is the one in November. Being that they are still very close I wouldn’t put a tremendous amount of confidence in the current projected outcome. If on the other hand, Trump continues to drop then that may signal a pending defeat.

On one hand I hope he does lose because the Republicans need to shift gears and pick more mainstream candidates. The pendulum swings both ways but always seeks equilibrium. It’s ridiculous to think that one-sided politics will have a shelf life longer than 4 years. In the current case any Republican other than Trump would have won the election and we could have moved towards the right. Now we stand a really good chance of moving farther left which is EXACTLY the opposite of what Trump supporters were hoping to get. On the other hand, 4 more years of the status quo is going to suck sweaty balls.

Had that happened 2 months ago i think NH would be way ahead in the polls. She would have easily defeated Biden (i know several life long Dems that would have voted for her over Biden) and i think would have probably defeated Harris. This late in the game and with Vance attached i am not so sure. i think it would be a finish line race though.

None of that matters thought because Trump is incapable of admitting defeat.

Nobody is beating Kamala Harris. She is arguably the best presidential candidate of all time. I can’t wait for the current bums serving as President and vice president to get thrown out so Harris can fix everything.

Right on. I was just curious which polls you were following or if you had a summary. As far as Trump’s rhetoric and the topics (targets?) he chooses, I think you are correct. The next few weeks will be telling. I make no predictions.

I usually don't hop in the politics chats, but thought I might as well.

I think Kamala is going to win. Not because she is a good candidate, but because America (in my uninformed opinion) did not like the idea of choosing between Trump and Biden. Now that the dems have given alternate option, I think people are gonna vote for her. As long as she doesn't make too many of her opinions known and keeps a relatively low profile, I feel like shes going to win by default.

Remember when the governor of Georgia relented and allowed forensic examination of the Dominion voting machines in his state, but then his car exploded on the freeway, killing his daughter's boyfriend and then he immediately changed his mind about allowing the examination, and then the investigating officer committed suicide about 4 days later? Remember that?

Probably not... never saw that in the media.

In a related comment - I think Harris does recover some enthusiasm voters had lost on Biden. That will make a difference I’m sure. Apparently the polls are showing Harris is now beating Trump though I’m not familiar with the polls myself. That’s something I’ve been meaning to research.

I heard she is going to present Kamalanomics tomorrow.
So do you think it will be more of the same Biden commie fascism or more copycatting Trump? Or both?

Either way, I'm pretty sure I won't be enthusiastic. 😁
