Trump goes to the convention and withdraws his name from the nomination, saying it is better to have someone who will unite conservatives across the country, for the good of the country. A moderate gets the nomination. That moderate does a check-the-box diversity selection as veep.

Joe Biden has said it is "time to heal" the US in his first speech as president-elect, vowing "not to divide but to unify" the country.
"Let's give each other a chance," he said at an event in Delaware addressing those who did not vote for him.

Biden: 'We have to stop treating our opponents as enemies'

Addressing cheering supporters in a car park in his hometown of Wilmington, Mr Biden said: "I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify; who doesn't see red states and blue states, only sees the United States."

"It's time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again," Mr Biden said, without mentioning his rival in the election. "And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies."

I’m predicting a seasonal wave of Covid and targeted lockdowns. Election workers will collect mail-in ballots unsolicited and in person from private residences. Drive in / through voting booths will be required in targeted locations. More literature explaining how to register to vote will be distributed among illegal aliens as they step across the border into USA.

FIFY

On the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if Biden announced he wasn’t going to accept the nomination. I’m betting there is behind the scenes maneuvering in that direction going on. The Democratic puppet masters have to realize that short of that Trump gets elected and the Republicans pick up seats in both the Senate and the House.

Didn’t vote for Biden the first time. So it’s impossible to vote for him again.

BTW, Biden hasn’t yet been virtually nominated regardless of the wording of the link. In fact, no date has been set for such an event to take place.

Also had you read carefully what I wrote you would have noticed that I didn’t say it would happen. Instead I said I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened. But then I’d also be surprised if you took the time to carefully read anything before you posted a reply as that would seem to be contrary to what’s normally to be expected.

Now that Biden has dropped out and Kamala is the heir apparent it seems the landscape at least for the moment has changed so I feel it’s time to consider another update to my original prediction.

Originally I speculated that Biden and the Democrats would do well.

Biden wins.

Dems widen majority in Senate.

Dems win majority in House.

Abrignac wrote:

This prediction was made because the Republicans chose someone who has extremely low approval ratings as their standard bearer.

Then I revised that prediction as it became very clear that Biden was in cognitive decline

Looks like I need to revise my prediction made in the OP.

A quote attributed to Obama sums it up pretty good. "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."

Looks like Obama’s prediction may have been a prophetic.

Abrignac wrote:

A few weeks later the debate between Biden and Trump happened. We all know what happened. So the first revision seemed spot on.

Well now the Democrats ran a counter handoff and Kamala is tied with Trump when only a week before Trump was leading Biden by 4-6 points depending on the poll.

So I’m thinking if someone so “distasteful” as Kamala can tie Trump a few days after becoming the presumed nominee think I’m thinking she may give Democrats a hope at beating Trump it may actually drive more Democrats to the polls on Election Day.
