Mom gets out of rehab today. Staying at my house (ugh!) while we find a care facility for her to live.

My Shoulder surgery was postponed by the doc until September 6.

Thanks.

The delayed surgery takes the immediate need to find a place for my mom off the table-for an extra couple weeks. Pooph! No more pressure on that issue. Plenty of time to see how she progresses....

Didn't want to take the 500 off topic. Last night I posted an issue with a good friend's granddaughter who has been battling cancer for a while and it has spread. Her husband found her yesterday morning unresponsive. They rushed her to the hospital and she was put on a breathing unit and stuff... things were not looking good. If there was no progress the family would have to make a decision to pull the plug (her wishes are to not resuscitate or live on a machine).

Some positive news today, she woke up but is still on assisted breathing and I'm sure on a some medications. If things continue to move in a positive direction, the doctors say they might be able to take her off the breathing machine maybe tomorrow or the next day. (I'm sorry, I don't have technical terms).

Miracles do happen whether you attribute them to a higher power, mother nature, or luck... I truly believe they do. She's not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination but I want to thank you all for your positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. In talking with her grandmother, she told me to extend her praise to you folks for your thoughts in these difficult times.

Mom's surgical incision is infected and she had to have a second surgery to clean out the infection, clean out the hardware before re-installing it. Two months will cause such deterioration that I think she'll either be a vegetable or pass away miserably while in a skilled-car facility bed. This is the complete opposite of how she has been telling us she wants her life to end... 🤔

My shoulder surgery is still on for Friday!!! =d>

How does someone get an infection while in the hospital? They should offer a warranty on surgical procedures. I hope your Mom rebounds and has no further complications. I also send best wishes that your surgery goes well.

Maybe bring a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and/or rubbing alcohol and give it to the surgeons clean their utensils. Tell them it's on the house.

I don't like hospitals, they are full of sick people. Then again, maybe I fit in since I've been told that I'm sick in the head.

Update on Angela. She was taken off the breathing tube today. She can move her arms, hands, feet, and legs. She can talk with a whisper, her throat is sore from the breathing tube.

The doctors and nurses have said that what happened is a miracle. I think to myself that the miracle happened because of a Greater power and folks like you all helped make it happen. I want to Thank You all for your prayers, positive vibes, and positive thoughts.

I think you may have missed the cause of the infection which was after the hospitalization o Robert's mother, Bucky.
Actually I'm not sure who's infection you were talking about.
Hospitals are where illness congregates, so I have a tendency to avoid them. On the other hand when I had my cancer operations, the first was in a hospital and the second was in an office clinic. I got an infection from that second operation. It was quickly subdued by a single $900 pill.

Amanda went under the knife the other day to try to alleviate the pressure on her brain but, sadly, they found that the cancer had spread more than the tests reveled. They couldn't fix it.

She's home now because she didn't want to die in the hospital. They sent a hospital bed to her house so she can live her last days in the comfort of her home. Knowing that you're going to die in the near future... I don't think I would be comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. VNA's will be visiting a couple times a day but the writing is on the wall.

Cancer SUCKS!

When I die, I want it to go quick. I don't want to be a toll on my family and friends watching me slip away.

Lighten the mood joke: I want to die peacefully my sleep and not screaming in terror like the passengers on the tour bus I'm driving for extra money in retirement.

Mom is much improved, but is not allowed to bear more than 20lbs on her affected side yet . Ortho PA said two months no weightbearing in a skilled care facility. We see the ortho again for her on Tuesday and get an official update.

My shoulder surgery was 2 days ago. I am progressing real well.

Sadly, Amanda lost her battle with cancer. She passed Friday morning at home. 31 yrs young is way to young but her suffering is over.

On a lighter note, I'll put $100 down for an arm wrestle against Robert as along as he can only use his shoulder surgery arm.
