Not really TBH. At that range a .223 round with a decent mid-priced scope you can drive tacks. Kudos for not shaking and peeing himself in the high stress situation but as far as being a terrific shot I dunno.

Never said he was a terrific shot.
Trump might be dead if he was.
I said he was at least “pretty good”……..being 1/2 inch away from a head shot at 142 yards, qualifies as pretty good in my book.

The shot that killed the innocent bystander was a horribly off-target shot if he was aiming at Trump.

Aaaand…….let’s not forget.
Trump turned his head, probably as the bullet was leaving the barrel.
Had he been looking the other way………..probably toast, and who knows what’s next,
Maybe it was a lucky shot?
Trump was lucky. That entire security operation was awful.

He needs to get a quality private security detail loaded with combat vets, and bring back some of the agency pros who went private, many leaving because of the chit show most of those agencies turned into.
If he wins the presidency, and he gets to clean house, and put the right people back into the SS,fBI, CIA, etc., THEN he can trust a SS detail for security……………imho.

In the mean time, the rest of this year gonna be hectic.

If the guy had aimed at the center of mass (chest), we would likely be watching a funeral.

Nope. There's a part of the vid where you can see a bit below neckline...no vest.

I am not aware of any soft armor that will stop a .223. Maybe it exists.

He definitely looks like he's wearing something at the RNC. At first I figured it was just some difficulty standing up, but hindsight, might just be the discomfort that comes with being unfamiliar with the added bulk.

He’s familiar with it, first started wearing a vest back in 2016, but it can still be uncomfortable.
