Pleasant weather here in north central MA, it should be a nice day. I hope you all have the same.

For some reason, my Son's car horn randomly goes off. Turn the wheel and beep, beep, beep. Go over a bump... beep, beep, beep. WTF? I suspect the horn switch in the steering wheel is flaking out. I ain't gonna try to pull the steering wheel face off to try to replace it or figure it out. Prolly a bunch of wires in there for blinker switches, headlights, airbag and stuff. I ain't gonna mess with that. Call me chicken but I don't feel like getting punched in the face with an airbag.

Short term and easy solution is to pull the fuse for the horn. Hopefully the horn fuse is just for the horn but it might cover the horn and dashboard lights and stuff which would suck so then we'll just unplug the horn itself. Long term solution is to take it to the shop and let the professionals deal with digging into the steering wheel. .

If that's the worst thing that happens today, then I think I'll survive.

Want to book some Boston Blue Man Group tickets for the kids but they need to pick out a date when they want to go. I've seen the Blue Man Group a couple of times and it's pretty cool and a fun time. Buy a couple tickets for my Daughter for her and a friend. A couple tickets for my Son and his girlfriend. They just need to pick a day. An excuse to go into Boston for the day to eat, shop, see the show and stuff.

Breaded & deep fried walleye (my brother caught the fish on Lake Erie)
Tartar sauce made with homemade zucchini relish (zucchini from our garden)
Fries
Fresh sweet corn from our garden
Slaw
Jalapeno poppers made with peppers from our garden
Beefsteak tomatoes from our garden

Great meal. Had way too much. Now I'm going to lay around for a while. Prolly smoke a cigar later.

You guys have a good weekend.

Taters n onions with some hot sauce and chopped pastrami mixed in for lunch.

Can't do much being on call all weekend. Mowed the lawn, whacked off the ditch, blew the driveway and picked up sticks. The lid on the chicken coop's nesting box was pretty rotten so I got some pressure treated plywood and made a new one that will hopefully last longer than the first one that I got 14 years out of.

Smoked a cigar while mowing and finished it sitting by the firepit.

I think I'll take a nap now. Nothing else to do today. Wanted to wash the truck, but car wash is 10 minutes south and traffic on weekends I really struggle to make it to the hospital in 40 minutes for my 30 minute call time so I can't risk that. Maybe later tonight when the traffic dies down.

Sounds creepy.

Son's car horn thingy was an easy short term solution. Just pulled the fuse but then dropped it somewhere in the engine compartment. Oh well, guess I'll have to buy another 10 A fuse at some point in the future. Apparently the horn has it's own 10 A circuit. One would think it would share a circuit with other non critical things like inside lights, dashboard lights, cigarette outlets or something but nope. The horn has it's own dedicated circuit. 10 amps for a horn? At that level, that thing should be loud enough to wake the neighborhood.

I Googled it because it seemed odd to me but sure enough for his make and model of car (Toyota Yaris), the horn has it's own circuit. Seems kinda overkill but whatever (shrug).

Dad, what if I need to use the horn?
Your middle finger still works, use that if needed.

If the car is at beater status, you can always wire in a pushbutton and mount it in the dash or in one of the blockoff dummy plates in the dash.

Did that on my last beater. It had blown airbags, I bought it totaled, and the horn switch didn't work. Ran some wires and a switch and got my horn back. I don't think I go a day without using my car horn.

I could probably count the times I've used my horn in my life on one hand... I guess I'm a little more patient than you... and I also live in a rural community... 😟

Attended services for my aunt today after a too brief struggle with cancer. Feeling badly for my cousins who lost their dad the same way 22yrs ago, and for my dad who's down 4 siblings now in the past 10 months. Life beats the chit out of ya some years

speaking of offend; didn't have time to shower last night or this morning...went to my granddaughter's soccer game and it was 102F at game time, so I'm pretty sure I was ripe...did the old Axe shower...tried to sit well away from other friends and family of the team...

So many short cycle traffic lights with turn on green arrow only and so many people engrossed in their phone while waiting for the change. You get to the count of one for the brake lights to go dark before everybody behind you is on their horn. The light stays green for 5 cars to get through if you're lucky.

Got 28 stoplights between home and work.

4 siblings in 10 months? That is crisis inducing. I pray dad and family will have peace and comfort. I’m sorry for your loss.

Good Sunday morning dudes. A hard fought 5 miler in 90 degrees. Took my shirt off when I came in and lost two lbs.

Cigar on the patio under the fan and now taking the '65 out for its weekly romp around the hood.
