Perhaps. But Trump has a pretty 💩 approval rating. If the Democrats pick a moderate that person could pull the moderates who at the moment would vote for Trump as the lesser of two evils. If that happens then maybe Trump loses.

I think a lot will depend on how much of the $240M already donated can be transferred to the campaign of another candidate other than Kamala Harris. Another wrinkle in the ointment could be mega donors and bundlers basically saying that if their donations don’t go to their candidate of choice then they will withhold future donations.

I'm guessing they are gonna go with a female ticket. It'll be Harris for sure, they don't have the guts to pass on Black, Asian, & Female. All of that is just to good to pass up for them. I also think she goes with Whitmer.

My guess is Kamala Harris will be the nominee. Since her name is also on the Biden-Harris campaign formulation documents various campaign finance laws allow her to take control of the full $90+M in those accounts. She also raised around $45M or more yesterday after Biden dropped his reelection bid. That puts her $135M ahead of all challengers.

As far as polling is concerned the only thing that matters is who wins:
Pennsylvania
Georgia
Michigan
Ohio
Arizona
North Carolina
Nevada
Wisconsin
Virginia

The other states will go either Republican or Democrat depending on historical voting trends whether the name that appears on the ballot for either party is that of a live body, a rock or a dead fish.
