Harris Campaign Website Scrubs Walz’s Rank, Escalating Stolen Valor Scandal




Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign escalated its stolen valor scandal Thursday by scrubbing its reference to vice-presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) rank.

The campaign altered its official website’s biography of Walz, removing its reference to him as a “retired command sergeant major” to instead note he once served at the command sergeant major rank, Politico reported.

The shocking decision escalates the scandal from denial to damage control for the reeling campaign.

As Breitbart’s Kristina Wong reported, “[Walz] has claimed that he is a retired command sergeant major, but his rank was reduced to master sergeant since he did not finish the requirements to retire as a command sergeant major. Despite this, he has boasted about retiring as a command sergeant major on multiple occasions.”

Walz’s official campaign bio now describes him “rising to the rank of Command Sergeant Major” but does not mention his rank was reduced before retirement.

Walz fled the scene Wednesday after being questioned whether or not he lied about his military resume, abandoning Harris in a tarmac photo op as he rushed toward a fleet of black SUVs.

Additional scandals related to Walz’s military service claims throughout his political career have thrown the campaign’s rollout of its vice-presidential nominee into chaos.

As Wong reported, “There are also accusations by veterans who served with Walz that he — as the top enlisted soldier in his unit — abandoned them right as they were preparing to deploy to Iraq at the peak of the war.”

Walz has also suggested on multiple occasions that he carried weapons into war — including in a video shared by the Harris campaign — despite having never served in a combat.

The Harris campaign has not answered why Walz falsely claimed to be “in war,” or addressed the stolen valor accusations plaguing Walz.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged questions on Wednesday when asked about the scandal.

“This is someone who enlisted at 17 years old to serve his country. He was part of the Army National Guard for 24 years. This is someone who was a high school teacher, a high school coach, as well, who grew up in a small town in the Midwest, and, so, I think his bio speaks for itself, who he is speaks for itself, his record speaks for itself, and I’m just not going to say anything beyond that,” she said.

Walz also has a history of dismissing concerns of the corporate LGBTQ+ push, suggesting that concerns over this is “insane.”

Walz made the remark in 2023 in reaction to criticisms from South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), who said in an interview days prior that conservatives should think twice about shopping at Target following revelations that the store donated to the NDN Collective — a group seeking to remove Mount Rushmore, deeming it an “international symbol of White supremacy” — in 2022.

“I’m in a neighborhood where, you know, a governor next door to me, this week, made the case that a rainbow on a t-shirt at Target is destroying our democracy. That’s nonsense. That’s just — that’s just insane. And I think most people here in Minnesota agree,” Walz said, failing to mention that the Pride Month apparel was not the specific source of Noem’s criticism in the remark he was supposedly reacting to.

The fact that he immediately pointed to those concerned about the LGBTQ+ push by woke corporations — without Noem actually focusing on that in her specific remark — is even more telling, as it shows how Walz really feels about Americans who are sick of the pro-LGBTQ+ agenda being shoved down their throats — and those of their children.

It should also be noted that Walz “was always right there” for a pro-transgender bill in 2023, targeting out-of-state youths for irreversible medical services, per Minnesota Democrat Rep. Leigh Finke.

Terry Schilling, the CEO of the American Principles Project, described that bill as “literally state-sanctioned kidnapping.”

I dunno. But when I hear the actual recorded phone call compared to the edited versions the DNC is pushing it makes me wonder why Democrats put up with this. This is why Congress wanted the voice rec of Biden’s recent testimony / interview. The DNC has shown a willingness to edit and misrepresent the facts.

Having served both in the reserves and on active duty I agree with everything you say here. When on active duty I hated nothing more than the reservists who showed up for their weekend duty. They did little more than get in the way or **** something up then leave it to us to fix.

On the other hand, 147,000 reservists were called to active duty for Desert Storm. Seventy-three thousand were sent to Southeast Asia. Not sure where the other 70,000 went. So, the like them or not they do serve when needed.
