A slight change of plans at the 11th hour. Instead of Chicago we are headed to Montreal for the first leg. I see that international travel has not progressed much from my corporate days. 😣

That's a good suggestion. Some good places in NH, VT and Western MA do that. I could hang out at the hotel, fill the belly with some hot wings, potato skins and stuff then take a nap while they hit the white water.

I think you're on to sumptin' frank.

The very first Wild Man Weekend was white water rafting...we stayed in a hotel in Montreal and then bussed to the Rive Rouge in June of that year. Excellent instructions, 8-man rafts...fabulous experience.
We switched to golf weekends after that but it's something I'd do again.

We did look into some group packages reasonable distances from where you live but going to Montreal as part of the weekend was part of the appeal.

Do it!

Just an idea of something out of the ordinary. I'm not very creative on dreaming up gifts.

In summary... it was a proposal to them and I said I'd do it too if they wanted. I'm 100% behind them all the way but the instructor would have to peal my hands away from the inside of the plane.

Funny fact.... turns out that if you jump out of a plane, you actually don't need a parachute... but using one increases your chance of living.

Needed to mow but the rain said no.

Grocery store had 2 day sale fri sat on big packs of beef round and pork loin. $3.88/lb beef and $1.88/lb pork I picked up 10lbs ea. Cut the fat chunks off the pork and ground the rest into taco meat. Vac sealed and freezer'd that. Took the big chunk of top round and sliced it for jerky, got that in a marinade till tomorrow. Took the rest of the stew meat and round steaks and ground them with the pork fat to make snack sticks. Got all that stuffed into casings and put em in the dehydrator. Still experimenting with snack sticks to figure out how to make em work.

So much for the no rain thing forecasted for today.

Dreary weather here too. High 60's low 70's with a general overcast in the sky.

Good day to cook a few meals for grab and go lunches during the week. Got some chicken thighs defrosted. Some are skin on in a marinade called Bourbon Street something or other {shrug}. My Son made it so it's still in the experimental stage.

If I die in the next day or two... send a sample of the marinade to the investigator who is in charge of suspicious deaths.

Two Cinco NINE!
