Cooking a smallish pork butt in a Dutch Oven on the stovetop. Generally this is how I cook when it is so blasted hot. The oven overheats the house even at low temps and I’m not firing up the smoker on triple digit temp days. Just too hot for me.

HockeyDad, that sounds like a blast.

Tank and I drove around the last two days. Now home. Making panini for dinner. Sooo goood.

Five Guys for lunch. Now heading to Sue La Table for a dim sum cooking class.

Been to Dim sum a handful of times in Boston's Chinatown. You pay upfront, get seated and they start you off with some tea or other drinks, some soup selections then it's sort of all you can eat type thing. The servers walk around the tables with carts of various food selections. If your plate is empty they make sure it is full.

I ate things that I couldn't identify nor knew the name for it. I just pointed at it. It looks kinda good but I don't know the name of it nor want to know what it's made of. I don't think I want to know half of the stuff I ate.

With that said, Boston Chinatown Dim sum is an enjoyable experience... just don't tell me what I ate.

Love dim sum. Would like to eat it more often but our favorite place is stupid busy during lunch. And after going through our favorites, gets pretty ‘spen$ive.

I’ve actually been to the Hells Kitchen restaurant in Las Vegas twice. Gordon wasn’t there but the chef who won the show that season was. Gordon just opened another one in Miami.

We had tons of dim sum restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. I found them to be a bit intimidating. I finally went with a coworker and he taught me the routine. Also discovered soup dumplings. His wife was from Shanghai.

Right now I live in a Chinese food desert. All I’ve got so far is basically New York takeout Chinese and I prefer Sichuan so I’m learning to cook more dishes.

Got home, jumped straight on the mower and knocked the yard down. Stupid rain all weekend couldn't do it then.

Didn't mow everything, that's gonna wait for the weekend. But the stuff in full sun got taken care of. The shaded areas don't grow that fast it's mostly mowing leaves and twigs and tall weeds.

Fishing was pretty good yesterday. My friend, Art, and I caught our limits and helped some other passengers get theirs by letting them use my gear.

Art hooked a couple big fish, but both got taken by the taxman (sharks). Still a very fun day.

End of the trip after we tied up, as folks are walking off... the boat captain took my number. It appears he wants me to work for him as a deckhand now and then.

Of course, we'll have to discuss my compensation package.

Absoluetly, do it!

Compensation Package?!

If they are going to pay you, great. But ...... really? On the water, doing what you love? Or at least assisting ohers in finding Joy?

Get after it!
