Yeah! We’ll be sad to see the big goofball go, but also really happy to see him get adopted by a nice family with a big ol’ yard. I’m sure he’ll thrive if the adoption goes through.

I had to wait for our nastiest monsoon storm this season to pass before I could venture out to smoke tonight. The good news is it in the upper 80s right now with a nice breeze. The bad news is the mosquitoes will be out for their three weeks of joy and revellrie. Also, DED, your pool is probably a wreck from the crazy winds.

Yeah it's part of the charm of living in the desert for sure. The other part of that charm is the picture I took last week of my car thermometer reading the outside temp at 121...

Stog, 121 degrees sounds brutal. I feel like I'm going to melt at 100.

You all have a "dry heat" but idk if that would even matter once you get into the 120's Lol

Couple cups of coffee into the day and still tired.

Only thing I have to do is water the garden tomorrow evening--until then I'm going to rest...or at least try to...

You guys have a good weekend.

Pork roll is a NJ thing. Can be had in eastern PA too. Though I've heard it's starting to get in other states as well.
Find it if you can, honestly it's worth ordering if you can get them to deliver. It will change your life
Any brand it worth trying, but Case's and Taylor are the gold standard

Made these today...1 pack was enough for 2 sammiches. Don't know if it's the "right way" but I pan fried them with a couple rings of onion. Didn't brown them but they got a bit toasty in the middle and on the edges. Fried a couple of eggs over easy medium to go on top of a hamburger bun that was built as such...bun, pork roll, onion, pork roll, cheese, fried egg, pork roll, sliced thin roma tomato, pork roll, bun.

I liked them. Thanks.

Next time I'm going with Cuban bread garlic butter in a pannani press.

I applaud you and others that foster pets.

I, personally, would have a hard time letting one go. If I had the space and fostered our furry friends, I would probably have a house full of dogs & cats & maybe a horse or two. Domesticated animals are awesome and become a member of the family. It would pain me to give them away.

All my life I've had dogs and cats. No matter if you have a $hitty day or a good day, they don't care & give unconditional love. When you walk in the door, they happily greet you.

On another note, its a clear sunny sky here in northern central MA. Mid 70's. I started early and my self imposed to-do list is complete for the day. I'll do laundry tomorrow. Prolly cook up some chicken cordon bleu later. My Son's girlfriend is coming over tomorrow and wants cook up a batch meatballs and spaghetti sauce. How can you say no to that?

That's the cliff notes of a typical boring Bucky weekend. I'm a fan of boring weekends.

I can’t handle the Reaper. I like spicy food but I can’t handle that level.

I can eat a whole habanero straight off the plant. I use habanero in a lot of my cooking. It's spicy and with enough of em I'll start sweating and stuff.

But reapers are a completely different beast. I only make sauce from them. This is the first thing I've even attempted to eat with straight fresh reapers in it. It was a challenge, I added more eggs and taters to dilute the thing and I did make it through eventually. But the firehole was equally intense.

Wife said she didn't think I'd notice. She thought I'd just assume she'd put extra habaneros in there.

Mowed the lawn and picked up sticks. Fed n watered the chickens. I need to get to Costco to pick up a brisket for a family birthday party next weekend but I don't know that I have the strength in me to deal with Saturday Costco crowds. Might have to just try to get there late in the day on a weekday.

Boy wants to go swimming. Might go do that.

Funny tid bit. My Son bought this bandana thing to put on the cat. The cat didn't like it. Kept trying to back out of it like it was a cone of shame thingy. 10 minutes later the cat walks out of the bathroom and didn't have it on. WTF? (Backstory my cat drinks out of the toilet).

Somehow and some way, he (the cat) was able to take it off. My Son found it in the toilet (I'm not making this up). My interpretation... the cat is telling us what he thinks about the bandanna thing.

I think should buy some in home cameras. I would love to see how he got it off then brought it into the bathroom, jump on the toilet bowl and deposit it there.

Still tired. Had some burgers & fries for lunch.

Smokin' on this Melanio and remembered that we have to can all of those tomatoes tomorrow.

Told my wife that we should just shoot for 16 pints of marinara and not 32. That way we won't be canning all day in 90+ degree weather. Plus 16 pints equals about 9 gallons of frozen/cored tomatoes. So that amount will free up freezer space for more tomatoes over the next few weeks. Maybe have a 32 pint day sometime in September.

10 months out of the year there is always something to do. That's why December and January are my new favorite months. Let it get dark @ 5pm. Who cares. I don't even look outside most of the time. Lol I've been at this since February...it's a long season.

Our county is in "extreme drought", so lots of evenings have been spent watering the garden. On the plus side, the grass has stopped growing. For real this time. It's been 9 days since we've mowed and I don't think any grass has grown. In fact more has died. Fine with me. Will check again at the two week mark.

LMAO @ Bucky 🤣 have to love the strange things Kitty Cats will do.
I get greeted every night in my recliner by Jessie, when she shows up later in the evening and sits in front of me on the recliner and stares at me, like saying you can go to bed now and I'll take over the recliner.😄

In and out of consciousness in the recliner today... college football in the background.

I did get over 8000 steps in beforehand. Walked the dog and did a Costco run. Aside from taking a shower and eating... I ain't done much else.

One habanero per meal is all I can handle these days. I used to eat more spicy than I do now but I could never eat a handful of Habaneros much less a Reaper.
