PLA Will 'Reunify' Taiwan: Chinese General Confronted Sullivan Just Before Surprise Xi Meeting



Chinese leader Xi Jinping met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Thursday at the end of the latter's three day trip to Beijing, which is a first such trip for a sitting US national security adviser in eight years.

But the most interesting and tense moment came just before that, when Sullivan met one of China's vice chairs of the Central Military Commission, Gen. Zhang Youxia. The top general confronted Sullivan on growing US support for Taiwan's military. Zhang informed Sullivan that reunification of Taiwan with the mainland is "the mission and responsibility" of the Chinese PLA military and that it won't be deterred. Sullivan looked nervous and unsettled throughout the whole encounter, with Zhang confident and beaming.


"China demands that the United States stop military collusion between the U.S. and Taiwan, stop arming Taiwan and stop spreading false narratives about Taiwan," the statement issued by the defense ministry said.

Sullivan meekly opted for a diplomatic and conciliatory tone in response, saying "it is rare that we have the opportunity to have this kind of exchange" and underscored "the need for us to responsibly manage U.S.-China relations."

A follow-up White House also statement sought to emphasize the two sides had "recognized the progress in sustained, regular military-military communications over the past 10 months."

As for statements in the wake of Sullivan's rare meeting with President Xi, there were the usual expressions of managing competition and avoiding direct conflict:

"We believe that competition with China does not have to lead to conflict or confrontation. The key is responsible management through diplomacy," he told reporters at a news conference shortly before leaving Beijing.

"While great changes have taken place in the two countries and in China-U.S. relations, China’s commitment to the goal of a stable, healthy and sustainable China-U.S. relationship remains unchanged," Xi said.

"President Biden is committed to responsibly managing this consequential relationship to ensure that competition does not veer into conflict or confrontation, and to work together where our interests align," Sullivan continued, echoing the familiar theme.

But the fact that he was confronted by the PLA delegation and was essentially told off concerning the hot button Taiwan issue is likely going to be used by Republicans back home to point out the weaknesses of the Biden White House's foreign policy.

A main campaign theme of Trump is that the world no longer "respects" America, and the hawks will most certainly highlight Sullivan's cowering as a PLA general informed him essentially that 'we will take Taiwan'.

Footage of the meeting shows the Chinese military delegation looking confident, with an unsettled and nervous Sullivan and his team appearing like deer in the headlights...

As for the surprise meeting with Xi, the Chinese leader's tone was reported to be surprisingly conciliatory, perhaps realizing he's dealing with a lame duck administration.

"Earlier on Thursday it was revealed that the two sides had agreed to plan a call between Xi and Biden," The Guardian reports. However, there are "no known plans for the two leaders to meet again in person before the US election in November."

President Biden claimed in a long-winded anecdote on Monday that his great-grandfather was rumored to have been part of a group of coal miners that would kill anti-Catholic mine foremen and lay the dead bodies “on the doorstep” of their families’ homes.

Vice President Kamala Harris nodded along as the 81-year-old president spun the strange yarn during his remarks to union workers in Pittsburgh, Pa., joking that he was “disappointed” to learn that his great-grandfather Edward Francis Blewitt was not a member of the “Molly Maguires.”

“I remember when my great-grandfather was only the second Catholic elected statewide in the state Senate here in Pennsylvania,” Biden began. “And I remember they talked about — when they’d run against him in 1906 — they said, ‘Guess what? He’s a Molly Maguire.’”

The president explained that “back in the old days,” Irish Catholics working in Pennsylvania coal mines were often mistreated by the foremen, and a group of recently arrived Irishmen, known as the Molly Maguires, violently retaliated against their oppressors.

“A lot of the English owned the coal mines,” Biden said. “And what they did was they really beat the hell out of the mostly Catholic population in the mines. Not a joke.”

“But there was a group they called the Molly Maguires,” he went on. “And Molly Maguires, if they found out the foreman was taking advantage of an individual, they would literally kill him. Not a joke. And they would bring his body up and put him on the doorstep of his family.”

“Kind of crude, but I gotta admit they accused my great-grandfather of being a Molly Maguire — he wasn’t, but we were so damn disappointed.”

AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler’s head snapped back after Biden’s quip. Harris, also on stage with the president, laughed.

“That was a joke. That was a joke,” Biden assured the crowd.

A 2020 story in Irish American Magazine appears to corroborate Biden’s claim that his great-grandfather was alleged to have been a part of the secretive group.

The publication also notes that Biden told a similar anecdote about Blewitt on the 2008 campaign trail with former President Barack Obama, with a different punchline.

“He went out of his way to prove that he wasn’t [a Molly Maguire], and we were all praying that he was,” Biden told a crowd of Virginia coal miners.

Joe Biden is back before the cameras.

In some ways, it would be better if he stayed on vacation, as he may do less damage then when he's actually before the cameras and talking. How wrong it is that the Democrats have put us in that position with him, by not being honest about his condition. Kamala Harris is chief among those who has not been honest with the American people about Biden's issues.

After making bizarre comments before and after a meeting in the Situation Room about the situation in Israel, Biden went with Harris to Pittsburgh for a campaign event with union people.

I'm not sure if they understand that every time she appears with him, it just emphasizes that she's responsible for all his failures as well. And it also emphasizes that she had to know about his cognitive issues, which were once again on display when he spoke.

Does he even know what he is saying anymore?

Biden tripped all over his words saying that the "best decision he ever made" in the position was to nominate Harris.

If that's the "best decision," you know how bad his decisions have been.

But I don't think there's any question about what the worst thing, the most offensive thing he said was. It was pretty incredible and he should have known better, as an alleged Catholic. He claimed that Kamala had the "backbone of a ramrod" and the "moral compass of a saint."

Um, can we talk about how she rose to power and all the lies that she's told now that she has been in power? It's insulting to saints to make such a comment and truly how dare he? There are few people less saintly. And if she had a "moral compass of a saint," I doubt she would have attached herself to Biden, all the failed policies that she's embraced, and the radical agenda she's touted in the past.

Biden claims he ‘spoke to’ American hostage found dead in Hamas tunnel in latest apparent gaffe



President Biden appeared to mistakenly claim on Monday that he “spoke to” the American hostage who was found dead in a Hamas tunnel over the weekend — adding to his string of uncomfortable gaffes in the last months of his presidency.

It happened after Biden, 81, was asked if he had a message for the families of six hostages who were discovered dead in a Hamas tunnel by the Israel Defense Forces on Saturday.

One of the hostages was Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who had been held hostage for nearly 11 months since he was abducted from a music festival on Oct. 7.

“I’ve spoken to the American hostage,” Biden said in apparent reference to Goldberg-Polin. “I spoke to his mom and dad, and we’re not giving up. We’re going to continue to push as hard as we can.”

The White House did not respond to a question regarding which hostage Biden was referencing. However, he did speak to Goldberg-Polin’s family on Sunday after he was identified as one of the hostages discovered dead.

“I am devastated and outraged,” Biden wrote in a statement after meeting with the family, saying, “Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.”

“I have gotten to know his parents, Jon and Rachel. They have been courageous, wise, and steadfast, even as they have endured the unimaginable,” the president said. “They have been relentless and irrepressible champions of their son and of all the hostages held in unconscionable conditions.”

“I admire them and grieve with them more deeply than words can express. I know all Americans tonight will have them in their prayers, just as Jill and I will,” he added.

Protests have erupted in Israel as Israelis plead with their government to prioritize securing a hostage deal with Hamas.

Over 250 hostages were taken from Israel on Oct. 7 into Gaza during the deadly Hamas attacks and abductions.

In November, Israel and Hamas did a prisoner exchange in which Israel got 105 hostages back. An estimated 101 hostages remain in captivity in the Gaza Strip.

Biden also told reporters outside the White House that he thought Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not doing enough to secure a hostage deal with Hamas, adding that he hoped a deal was imminent.

The president came back to the White House on Monday — after being away for two weeks vacationing in California and Delaware — to meet with his national security team over the Israel hostage situation.

Biden is later expected to attend a campaign event with Vice President Kamala Harris in Pittsburgh, Pa., Monday afternoon.

When President Joe Biden wound up a virtual economic forum in Washington on Tuesday, he gave Americans and the world a look at the reality of his final few months in office.

For a full minute, Biden smirked and dawdled as the White House press corps shouted questions about pressing issues facing the country — until he was led off by his handlers, looking for all the world like a dementia patient who’d just wandered out of his rooms into a hallway filled with orderlies.

Just back from a supposedly refreshing two-week vacation, Biden conducted a White House event on “Investing in America,” a forum that featured guests from around the country making virtual appearances to tout the supposed benefits of the administration’s infrastructure program, according to UPI.

After a straight-from-the-teleprompter introduction speech, Biden listened as participants spoke up to fawn over “how the President’s Investing in America platform has helped them and their local communities,” as UPI put it.

Given the uncomplicated tasks of reading prepared statements and responding to comforting words from around the country, Biden was at ease. But the moment the scripted part ended, when questions started coming, he had nothing but a vaguely confused, mocking smile as his staff tried to usher reporters from the room.

“Reporters could be heard asking about various key issues, such as establishing a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war, free IVF treatment and high grocery prices, while staffers ushered them out, saying, ‘Thank you, press,'” Fox News reported.

Sure, why should the president answer questions about issues like an ongoing war in the Middle East involving Israel, a United States ally fighting proxies of Iran, the United States’ most flagrant enemy?

Why should he answer questions about the inflation his own disastrous policies have brought on his country, and his vice president’s even more disastrous plan to deal with it by price controls?

Why should Americans get the impression that the most powerful post their government is being filled by a man who is coherent, capable and committed to doing the job in dangerous world? Democrats and the establishment media tried to make that fantasy a reality for the upcoming election until Biden’s own shortcomings became too evident to hide.

They’re a picture of what Democrats, the establishment media, the Biden family and supporters have foisted on the country since 2020 — and would have done so for another four years if they could have.

Meanwhile, the hard men of Moscow, Beijing and Tehran nod knowingly and map out their plans in a world where the United States has all but abdicated its role as the world’s superpower, and its abilities to protect even its own interests.

Biden Says He's 'Not Able to Go Out in the Crowds Anymore'


The administration of President Joe Biden amounts to nothing more than farcical theater.

After all, no honest person believes that the bumbling octogenarian actually functions as president. But reporters question him, and the Secret Service protects him, as if he does. Meanwhile, we all maintain the farce by continuing to call him “the president.”

In a strange moment on Monday night outside the White House, Biden announced to a group of reporters that he was “not able to go out in the crowds anymore.”

The president made that comment after returning from Pennsylvania. There, he delivered a diabolically ironic Labor Day speech in support of Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

In a clip posted to the social media platform X, a female reporter asked Biden the kind of hard-hitting question Democrats always get from the establishment media.

“Mr. President, how was it to be back on the campaign trail today?” she asked.

“Feels good,” Biden turned and said.

Then, the president walked in the reporter’s direction and made his strange comment.

“Except I’m not able to go out in the crowds anymore. The Secret Service doesn’t let me,” he said with a creepy smile.

“No? Why not?” the reporter asked in the same tone one would use when dealing with an infant who had just lamented the boundaries set for him by adults.

“Well because, they said it’s too dangerous. No one gets to go out,” the president replied.

REPORTER: “Why not?”

The most generous interpretation of Biden’s comment is that his cognitive decline has led him to forget that the Secret Service never allows presidents to wander into crowds.

But a less generous interpretation — and likely closer to the truth — suggests a kind of stolen valor on Biden’s part.

After all, when terrible things happen to other people, the narcissistic president often responds by turning the spotlight on himself. For instance, recall that on his August 2023 visit to wildfire-ravaged Maui, Biden told a story about a small kitchen fire in his Delaware home.

Thus, when speaking to reporters on Monday night, Biden probably had in mind the failed July 13 assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, who rose to his feet after the shooting stopped and gave the world an iconic image of bravery.

Biden, therefore, stole some valor by making it seem that he, too, faced danger.

As pathetic as that sounds, it certainly makes sense in light of his entire farcical presidency.

Speaking without the aid of a teleprompter, Biden stated, “Through my investments, [it’s] the most significant climate change law ever. And by the way, it is a $369 billion bill.” He continued by admitting, “It’s called the [Inflation Reduction Act]. We should have named it what it was.”
