Or learn sign language.

On a different but kinda related note... my son's girlfriend is in college and wants to be a teacher for "disadvantaged" kids. Part of the requirements is classes to learn a second language. I asked her if she was going to do Spanish, French? She said that she was thinking of doing sign language as a second language and that meets the degree requirements.

It never occurred to me that sign language is a second language. If you think about it, it truly is. I had a dope slap moment and I applaud her for thinking out of the box.

That would be really impressive. Can't imagine picking up sign language. Sounds like you son found a smart one!

The only sign language I know is if I choke on something I'll flap my arms and try to do some silent movie type of thing or charades before I pass out.

Knowing sign language opens up some options. Schools for the hearing impaired and so on. I know a guy that grew up where both of his parents were deaf so he had to learn sigh language to communicate with them. He's pseudo retired. He donates his time to various communities in the area and he is on call for area courts if they need someone for sign language (this is his retired job). Also teaches it in some of the local community colleges.

Essentially he's an interpreter. It never occurred to me that sign language is a second language.

Not a lot of rain... no thunder, so Tank wasn't a pain in the arse, but a lot of wind. Power and internet still working for me, which is nice.

I figured there'd be lots of sticks and stuff in the back yard... nope. 4 of my fence post caps were on the lawn, though. I just popped 'em back on.

Well... detour on the way to the gym due to downed power line. On the detour route there was a downed tree on top of someone's house. 🤦

No bueno.

On a brighter note I was able to snag 5 pints of Ayinger Oktoberfest and a 4 pack of the 12 oz bottles, too. 😎

Happy Thursday fellas. Storm got to heavy out in Kentucky that I needed to move our cars further from the tree in our front yard. Hoping the old oak doesn’t take a tumble.

yeah...it be Friday here, too...

forecast says a couple more days in the mid 80's, then a week in the mid-90's...summer is not fading quietly hereabouts, but I'll take it over hurricanes or 100+ heat

Fringe of the storm, my ass. Several big trees down and one blocking in our driveway. Four hours of chainsaw and removal to squeeze my truck up the driveway. Power off until who knows when, but we and older son’s family all good. I’ll check back when we have power restored, Lord bless the linemen.

I am glad all our southeastern BOTLs seem to have made it through the storm without any damage that can't be fixed.

Anyone learned piano from one of those online courses?

We bought the kids an electric piano from Costco and the older is taking lessons, but I feel like the piano is looking at me saying "go ahead, I dare you"...
