Any of you'ze guys use these things?

SnoreRX, Zyppah, Zquiet, etc... do they work? I have a mild case of sleep apnea and the VA wanted to give me a cpap, but during the sleep study that thing sucked so bad I know damn well I ain't gonna use it. Don't want to deal with cleaning the damn thing daily, etc...

What say you?

Not sure about the mouthguards, but I would talk to your VA folks about different masks to use for the CPAP. There are some that suck way less.

Second. Getting used to the CPAP was worth the trouble, it really improved my sleep.

I believe my time scuba diving, snorkeling, Scott Air Pack use and wearing PPE for dust helped me make the transition.

I've tried SnoreRX and Zyppah. My wife said it helped a little bit, but did not completely eliminate it. They do need to be cleaned daily, but I just used a bit of toothpaste and toothbrush to do that right before bed, easy enough.
Eventually I found myself spitting them out in the night, and stopped using them.

Have the Mrs. sow a pocket on the middle back of a t-shirt and put a tennis ball in it and wear it to bed. You will sleep on your side and the snoring and apnea will go away. After a year or two and sleeping on one side or the other you can stop wearing it and you will sleep on one side or the other without it.

I also have a mild case of sleep apnea and found that just wearing a cheap $30 night guard mouthguard keeps me from snoring. I got the night guard because I grind my teeth and kept wrecking my teeth and crowns. Before, without the night guard I tended to breathe through my mouth while sleeping and ended up with dry mouth and snoring. With the night guard I sleep with my mouth closed, get better sleep, and save my teeth.

during your sleep study, did they note if you sleep with your mouth open or closed? If closed, you can use the "nose pillow" mask that are waaaay more comfortable than the full mouth/ nose ones.

Yep... they noted it's only when I sleep on my back, which is how I like to sleep. I can and do sleep on either side as well.

Just got my sleep apnea diagnosis couple months ago.The ResMed CPAP the VA ordered for.me is very nice.I do wear the full mask and roughly one month in I like it.I feel more rested than I have in a very long time.Honestly by night 4 the mask and I were getting along fine. Not sure I could use one of the old CPAP machines that did not include the humidification chambers............that dry air is no bueno

In Vegas we just turns putting our timber in Whistle’s caulk holster so he’d breath through his nose and not snore.

It’s hard not sleeping but we love him.

Tried mouth guards, nasal strips, different sleeping positions, cpaps.... nothing stops me

Only thing that was eventually effective was a combo of cpap and neck collar. Took a bit to get used to

Yeah, I imagine that eventually I will have to just frickin' get the cpap and use it.

I'm not a fatty... 175 lbs today. But... the airway gets blocked when I sleep on my back (which is how I like to sleep) and I do stop breathing on occasion. I know because it wakes me up and I roll to my side.

Different masks offer different benefits and downsides.

Less intrusive = more likely to leak. And the cannula style Adams circuits are more difficult to clean and will not seal at higher pressures.

Z will give you a free mask fitting with delux camping package trips. Promise deep sleep in only 2-3 breaths, complimentary ibuprofen will be on your pillow in the morning.
