Morning, peeps. As of yesterday, I finally finished getting my basement wired for sound. All wires aesthetically hidden in the walls and baseboard, running to a modest 9 speakers. Considered taking a sonic sick day, but too dam dedicated for my own good.

Good Monday Morning to All! Breakfast, coffee and a dental cleaning, done. Unfortunately, got a cracked tooth that is going to require a crown... Dammit! I ordered a new shotgun yesterday and I know that tooth got Helios, OTOH, it better than needing an implant. 😰

That sounds fun... man cave only has Klipsh promedia 2.0 plugged into the laptop and the garage has a Sony bluetooth receiver plugged into Bose 601's.

My truck has a 9 speaker Alpine system with Sub. 😎

That sounds nice. I've got 6 and a sub. Nothing I did. Just the RockFos system that came with the Frontier

2020 RAM 1500 Laramie... I think the newer ones (22-24) have Harman Kardon 19 speaker 900 watt system with a 10" subwoofer. Now THAT sounds fun!

It’s purdy amazing how good car sound systems have become. Back-in-the-day, only premium cars (e.g. Cadillac, Lincoln Continental, etc.), had any semblance of a “system”. The best you get was a built-in 8-track (no, not Russ) or cassette player and mebbe 4-speakers. After market businesses that sold players and speakers and installed them were the norm. I installed removable brackets and in-door panel speakers in my first two cars. I was stylin’, listening to my mixed cassettes and pumping up the volume. But even then, there were limitations to how loud you could make it. Either my 5” Jensen rounds would distort or the meager wattage from the player (probably no more than 10 watts per channel) would clip.

These days? Nah, ain’t doing any sort of panel removals, figuring out what wires to connect and praying that I wouldn’t blow a fuse(s), etc., etc. Prior to having my JBLs re-coned and bringing home my stereo equipment, my car was the best sounding audio system. I was purdy amazed how loud AND good the car system sounded.
