Got myself a burn barrel today... $25. Snagged a Ryobi hedge trimmer to go along with a load of other Ryobi gear... and a 14" chainsaw to help clear some brush behind the fence. That sh*t's going up in flames soon... maybe this weekend.

Easier to burn all the leaves/needles/brush and stuff... and the woods ain't gonna catch on fire because it's a damn swamp back there.

Tank has chased away some critters trying to get to my neighbor's chickens. Can't have that... they give us eggs! So I'm clearing the area out so they got nowhere to hide.

I like having a fire pit thingy but I don't use it too much. My son and his girlfriend use it some nights and the neighbor kid and his friends use it too. I work at a furniture manufacturer so there is plenty of scrap wood to bring home to burn. Furniture grade wood so solid oak and hardwood plywood is readily available. We also do some dense particle board for some things but I don't burn that. Plus we get a lot of pallets (oak or pine) from incoming materials. If they can't be reused, they will get cut up and I'll take some of that home to burn. Some folks at work that have wood stoves or fireplaces take a bunch of the solid oak scraps home to burn along with the cord wood they buy some winter heat.

Technically speaking, our company is not very green - I wonder what the carbon footprint would be? All of the money we make comes from dead trees for wood furniture and dead dinosaurs for plastic furniture.

HD has been to one of my bonfires.

The 2023 New Years Party had 45 pallets. It was in the burnpit on the property....it's about 15' round. I got a call from the ISS that they were monitoring it from space.

We don't need no water...

Burning stuff is a basic natural chemical reaction.

It releases stored up energy and produces light, heat (both are good for animal and plant life), CO2 (which is good for plant life) and water (which is good for both animal and plant life). The leftover carbon rich ashes can be used in compost and veggie gardens and stuff to grow more stuff to burn.

Happy Friday folks. Global warming isn't working here today. We are in the last day of a cold snap that is 18 degrees below normal. Gonna be 39/65 today but back into nice weather starting tomorrow.

Thank you, actually it was due to the end of election concerns that gave me very resting sleep.

You are absolutly correct, getting good rest is critical to well being.

Welcome home Drafter. See any boobs?

Picker bushes suck. With that said, blackberries and raspberries, grow on picker bushes and them berries are super yummy and worth the little scratches. The only problem is, when I pick them they never make it to the kitchen. I eat them as I pick them.

brings back memories from the 80's and 90's...my wife and I visiting her former neighbors who moved to Mukilteo, Washington, walking around their neighborhood picking berries from wild blackberry bushes...she'd make the most delicious blackberry jam...paired with her homemade bread...bettern candy...
