Better safe than sorry. I have been wearing a sand wedge divot in the side of my head since Jan 2022

Better safe than sorry. I have been wearing a sand wedge divot in the side of my head since Jan 2022. By chance, I made a dermatology appointment to get a rash checked on my thigh that would not go away. While there, I let them do a body check and they took two biopsies. They indicated I would get the results in a couple of weeks if everything was normal. They contacted me in less than a week and informed me that they had already made an appointment for me with a surgeon. As it turned out, I had a T2 melanoma. They were able to get it all but my surgeon/oncologist has told me that there is a 40% chance that it will return. I'm two years in on my five year dermatology/oncology scans for melanoma and so far no indications of it returning.

When melanoma returns it is not uncommon for it to be in the organs and it can show up as black dots between the toes.

If you spend a lot of time in the sun past or present, by all means get checked. It may save your life, melanoma is not something to @#$k around with.

Good news for ya! Yea....(that last bit was done in my best Kermit the Frog impersonation voice!)

They did 5 biopsies and they still smart quite a bit. Heard back from the doctor yesterday. All clear except for one. The one on my back. She said to not worry too much as she cut it all out. We made an appointment for March 12 already for another spot on my leg but she wants to see me back in 6 months and we went ahead and made that appointment. I'm glad I'm under a pretty tight medical group for my doctors and that they listened to my concerns and followed up on them expeditiously.

Seriously all you FOG's...go to the doctor and don't be afraid to open your mouth. They'll listen. Thanks for the well wishes. I'll keep on praying for those on the thread.

^^ Glad to hear Dr!

My surgery went well this morning and they are sure they got it all. Have a nickel sized hole on my leg and need to go back in May for another assessment. Came home and went out for a three miler this afternoon.

My ankle is farked. I have an MRI next week, but it's likely a tear in my peroneal tendon. Likely will result in surgery with 4-8 weeks of non-weight bearing knee scooter fun...

I told a friend that I had no idea how it happened. He said "you just woke up old, that's all!"

Chit, that doesn't sound good. No history of injury? Hope MRI has better answers.

As some of you have figured out, I'm a bit scattered and at times absurd [jester]. I'm a man in my mid 40's and diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Decline (MCD)[gonzo]. I have lifelong neurological problems, although you wouldn't guess it by looking at me. That, with family history of Alzheimer's and my repeated head traumas ](*,), my neurologist was not surprised when my blood-work was showing clear biomarkers for Alzheimer's.

I'm a practical engineer, which means I think hard and work hard. But I can't manage a bank account, or go to the store without a list. My wife has to issue my cigar budget my money skills have gotten so poor. Financial management is commonly the first thing to go with those who were once able. But I get a cigar budget because; who's gonna deny a guy with 15-20 years left a good smoke?

Luckily I'm still active in cognitively linear activities my brain handles well and am still physically active. At work I plan logistics, calculate pressure coefficients, audit the warehouse, and huck iron. At home, I still fix everything and play music. These things all slow the decline...until they don't. At my age and abilities, I'm painfully aware of what my brain refuses to do.

I've got an awesome wife with a great azz, who recognizes me for the man I am not the man I was. Which alleviates a ton stressors that would normally make a person in my position present as very angry and/or hostile.

I really do appreciate that the thing we all have in common is a love for great smokes. And to all the FOG's [fog], that give me a nudge in the right direction on here; Thank you! You guy's probably make for great friends IRL too.

Often I hear about Suspicous Moles (1969 song by Elvis) which generally get zapped, and Cancerous Moles.

Where to Pre-Cancerous fit in the spectrum?
