Cadiologist appointment yesterday. Had a new Cardio PA or whatever she was called.
Discussed frequency and durations of AFIB since the ablation I had in November '23. Was told my incidents were in a so-so range. Asked if I would consider having another, new and improved procedure. This lady was all business. The convo went like this...
Me: Maybe I'd try the new and improved, but I can't believe the insurance company would agree to be on the hook for another one within 18 months.
(she peers into the computer)
Cardio PA: Well. There may be some issue. You have United Health. So...
Me: (Deadpan) Maybe that is part of the reason that executive had a real bad day.
She made an involuntary sound which was 60% laugh 40% scream for two seconds. Composed herself and then started apologizing for her response.
I just smiled and reminder her when our appointment started I told her my sense of humor is unconventional and somewhat dark.
Think I made an impression.
