Eventually some middle ground willl be found.

Yeah, not exactly sure asking each individual to give you 5 bullet points of what they do is the right way.

But it does give them a say before their department heads start axing people.

Also a pretty good way to find out which .gov email accounts are BS and which are actually "manned" by real poeple.

Came in to work today to the email, and subsequent emails saying we are expected to respond. The union gave us a generic list of responses for us to send.


Edit: CBP leadership wanted us to respond. DHS has now told us not to.

This is a great example of why people have lost faith in the government.

The list is a legit accounting that covers all facets of what is done. Not a list meant to hide what is not done.

People have good reason to have lost faith, but what I do/have done is not part of that.

This is not a thing... at least not on any large scale... Email accounts and user accounts on Federal systems are already flagged after 30 days of inactivity, then shut down after 45 or 60 i cant remember which it is. both the user and the ISSO are notified if an account is tagged as stale and then notified it will be deleted. Agencies use a scorecard for system health and stale accounts generate a huge score reduction... which in turn generates additional alerts on that ISSo's assets. this is all documented in the rules for the systems called Fams and Fahs...
