See, now this is just chicken little "the sky is falling" bullsheit. The TRUTH of the matter is, we could cut military funding by 30% and not affect readiness one iota... by simply eliminating the waste, fraud and abuse. No entitlement cuts, no loss of services... just trimming the waste.

People who are against this are either ill informed or just plain morons.

So you saying we should just keep forking over billions to an organization that has failed 7 audits and can't account for WHY?

Well... I disagree.

i am curios what you consider waste? GSA mart is one for sure i would like to see ended. charging 3x the cost of an item to a unit that they can get from the BX/exchange for 1/3 of the cost... ending the need to use 100% of the budget for a unit to ensure you dont get the following years budget slashed is another... punished for saving money...

All good starts. I remember asking one time why we didn't buy snap on or craftsman tools... they're superior in most applications and have lifetime warranties. Break it... return it for a new one. YUGE savings.

But noooo... gov't had "contracts" with **** tool makers for way more money. WHY?? Kickbacks. Lobbying. That's why.

Ironic, but sometimes all it takes is buying them lunch or a little attention. 😣 😣 😣 I worked for a government contractor on a government site. They leased computers for the entire site. Oh sure, the lessor serviced them... eventually, and they were OK computers, (All from China FFS!) but several of us pointed out we could buy/build TWO complete and better computers for every application, one to use, one just in case, then discard them all and still save much $$$ over the existing lease program.

The government is not competent at writing purchase specifications. Before working at this government site I involved in the construction of several nuclear power stations. Our contracts all had back charge provisions. If we caused problems for a contractor, they back charged us, if the contractor didn't perform or caused a problem, we back charged them. All the deliverable were clearly spelled out and scheduled.

In the course of my work at the government facility, I reviewed one contract for engineering design/modification services. I used an entire book of sticky notes pointing out missing requirements, unspecified goals, and other vital information to both contract participants. They were shocked and I was never again asked to review a contract. I still got requests from some government employees that were trying to do a good job, they would all be frustrated by the final results. It is so nice to out from that cloud of stupid. 😣

I got a good look at it also working for a DOD contractor.. we made a ton of money off replacement parts. Need a new bracket? Your going to buy a full sheet of plate steel as well as a full gallon of paint to make that bracket... orders were placed almost everyday... so ya, a $200 hammer could happen.. 😟

The VA here in Orlando sucks. Long-out scheduling appointments. Long wit at the apartment. And, most important of all, the worst doctors intown.
